^I was very skeptical going in. It was filmed years ago and the trailer looked like a made for tv movie. How wrong I was to be skeptical.

Conan the Barbarian (the original) again. Such a timeless classic. It still kicks ass today.

Conan's Master:
"What is the best thing in life?"

Random Student:
"The open steppe, fleet horse, falcons at your wrist, and the wind in your hair."

Conan's Master:
"WRONG! CONAN! What is best in life?"

Conan:
"To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women. "

Conan's Master:
"That is good! That is good."

I love that line!

I'm guilty of not checking myself sometimes, but there's been more and more hotlink fail going on in this thread. Remember that a lot of large sites don't allow hotlinking. This means if you aren't looking at a picture while actually on that website, the picture won't work so that you're not stealing their bandwidth. If you look at a picture on a website and then link it here, you might still see it because it is already in your cache. The rest of us will just see "image".

Preview your image when you post. Pay attention after it is posted. Try SHIFT+Reloading the Racket page so it forces it to try and load everything without using the cache.

Everything was fine for me until reading this, and clicking the refresh afterwards.

Luke wrote:THE MASTER

When this is released on blu-ray, the jewel case will tout "Multiple Oscar Award Wining". This had to be written with the goal to rack up awards. I'm trying to think of a movie to compare it to, but I'm drawing a blank so far. I also know it is a phenomenal movie, but I don't know exactly why. And to be honest, I didn't pick up on everything it put down.

It's hard to recommend a movie you really enjoyed, but don't know why. I'll put it this way, I'm seeing again over the weekend.

This "The Master"?

Considering the Mongols were worse than Nazis that conversation made me recoil in disgust. It's quote-for-quote what Genghis Khan told his generals. Reminds me of the 2007 movie that tried to put a human face on the conquering monster.

Let the Bullets Fly

This film is all over the place, and the pacing really grated on me toward the end.. entertaining, but couldn't help being annoyed by inconsistencies in the experience.

He was a member of the Mongols in that scene, so it makes perfect sense. He's a Barbarian.

But worse than the Nazis? Come on. I don't remember mass genocide and death chambers in my history lessons of the Mongolian empire. Ruthless, bloody, violent barbarians? Sure. But not genocidal megalomaniacs.
