I have been loading up on game port controllers. So many at Thrift Stores due to the older obsolete fifteen pin plug. Inexpensive and works just fine with a USB adapter.

Microsoft Sidewinder 3D Pro - $6.00 $3.00 Thrift Store
Image
Salvation Army half off sale for merchandise ten days old on Mondays this month. An older game port Flight Stick that has built in twist for the rudder. Always wanted one, I am loving this stick for the clean cut geometric design. :D

CH Gamestick 14 NEW - $20.00 $8.00 Store
Image
The stick was still zip tied to the cardboard package, the disc and manual hidden underneath! CH Products are very precise Flight Sticks with a great feel in the stick pivot. CH also tend to be very pricey, even the vintage game port versions. Even though a game port stick, a very very nice feature. ALL the buttons work with the standard four button layout of the game port. This without a driver due to the extra buttons simulating multiple presses of the buttons. It also means 100% compatibility with the four button and one hat switch limitation of the USB adapter. Count them, that is FOURTEEN independent buttons to set different functions in a Flight Sim.

Logitech G25 Gear Shift - $25.00 $8.33 Thrift Store
Image
This was on the 75% off table at Salvation Army. Not a game port but made to interface with the G25 Driving setup with separate clutch. There is a lockout for either in line shifting or gate six speed plus reverse. Very sweet unit with a pro quality and leather base cover around the shifter, a mod to try later on. 8)

Konami Bucky O'Hare Handheld LCD - $1.00 Thrift Store
In research it turns out there is a whole line of wedge shaped Konami portables. This seems to be an uncommon blue version instead of the green Bucky handheld. For a basic "game watch" LCD, a pretty good game. A three level SHMUP. 1st level is jump and shoot, 2nd level is move up and down while shooting and the 3rd level is move up and down while shooting at a boss.

Now why do Bucky O hare and Jazz Jack Rabbit look related?
http://retro4ever.com/feature-jazz-jackrabbit-vs-bucky-ohare/

It’s amazing when you think about it. Only in the 90′s could you have not one, but two green rabbits with guns as title characters in a video game. The most incredible aspect is that neither was seemingly trying to copy the other one. Both heroes flew under the radar to your average Joe, but for those who remember, I am referring of course to Jazz Jackrabbit and Bucky O’Hare !

PC Escher Interactive - $2.00 Thrift Store
A library of M.C. Escher art. It also has puzzle games to put back together in a Tetris style in the 3d "Möbius Strip" blocks. The perspective in Escher prints really throws one off, which way is up or in front.

PC Neverhood - $2.00 Mormon Thrift Store
YES! I now have a second copy. This PC game is very pricey online. Fiftydollar mentioned a while back that mormons donate good and sometimes valuable stuff at the Desert Industries Thrift Stores. Clay Animation with great puzzles, really a great game with killer music. Windows XP compatible.

A couple great links, see what the fuss is about this cult classic.

Gamecube Mario DDR - $5.00 Goodwill
Image
Never planned on buying this, but at five bucks why not. Not getting another pad, this can easily be played with a PS1 DDR Pad with an adapter. Arcade stick also works when too lazy to get off the couch.

Holy mother of nostalgia-bomb! I can't remember who I knew that owned it, but I very vividly remember playing that TMNT game when I was little. I wonder if it's possible that I owned it....
Anyway, it was a great little handheld game. Dare I say, the best?

I recently purchased a giant gamecube game lot very cheaply. It included: 64 games all the big titles (every mario, zelda, sonic, pikmin 2, metal gear solid, ect.) and only 2 sports games, all completely mint and basically brand new without the factory seal, all came with manuel, inserts and case, 4 official GC controllers, a GC extension cable, 6 memory cards, gamecube with hookups, plastic, manuels and inserts complete in box. All the games together sell for over $1000 dollars not including the sealed games. The seller failed mention that about ten of the games were sealed including, Pokemon XD, Baten Kaitos Origins, Harvest Moon MM, Sonic Riders, Shadow the Hedgehog, Super Monkey Ball 2, Sims, Sims pets. Also the seller not mention that this lot came with an official gamecube component cable, which itself is worth about 70+ I believe. I don't think he knew very much about video games. I got all this for under $400. I think I got a deal. :D

World Championship Baseball

Auto Racing
Space Armada
Space Hawk
Star Strike

AD&D Treasure of Tarmin x 3 (2 CIB/1 Loose)

Little bag of extras such as:

Anyone know why the sticker contradicts the box?

Found this:

When Intellivision II was released, it was discovered that three of the Coleco Intellivision games on the market, Donkey Kong, Mouse Trap and Carnival, would not work on it. Why not? Mattel said it wasn't sure - maybe software changes needed for the System Changer to work were causing the problems....

But as more and more games in development at Mattel were found not to work with the Intellivision II, programmers were filled in on the truth - but only on a one-to-one, need-to-know basis. The reason the Intellivision II doesn't work with the Coleco games is that it was designed not to.

The EXEC contains a subroutine to display the Mattel copyright notice; the programmer merely needs to provide the year in a certain memory location. Since a competitor's game would not use this routine, that location could have anything in it. The Intellivision II EXEC checks on a particular bit in that location; if the bit isn't set, the EXEC doesn't allow the game to play. With a valid date in that location, the bit will be set; anything else and there is only a 50-50 chance the bit will be set.

This was a deliberate attempt to render competitors' cartridges useless, and therefore it may very well have been illegal. No one was to know. But as game size went from 4K to 8K and larger, more Mattel programmers started using special title screens that by- passed the EXEC copyright routine. These programmers had to be told to make sure the bit was set.

Of course, once the Intellivision II was on the market, competitors were able to figure out how to make their new cartridges work on it.
