Found a free Sony Pro Video Monitor, seeking feedback

I think its only three that is needed, the audio is already RCA. An RCA Y Cable will be needed for the mono audio input.

I figured he would get one for the standard video input aswell.

@ wowbob - Might as well get five BNC/RCA adapters for both Composite and RGB separate inputs. Three separate inputs, the spare composite for an easy spare hookup.

This is great info - I honestly didn't realize that this thing would accept a composite signal. I guess there's hope for my NES and Atari's!

Well not the Atari RCA which is really RF unless you did a mod. You could hook up your Atari to a VCR then the composite cable to the monitor though. Does the input panel look like the picture on the previous page?

Digital RGB was common with old video editing systems. You can get a DB9 to RGB cord if you want, but there is no real point for consoles - to my knowledge.

Where is the Audio input for the BNC RGB section? You may have to go with add on amplified speakers if you go with that connection.

That 9 pin Digital RGB is interesting, agree with fastbilly. A proprietary connector that you won't need to use. The VTR connection is also different, both look to be for the jog shuttle commercial beta machines of the day.

Skip the svid altogether and just go straight for RGB. If you have access to RGB might as well use it as it's the best quality image you will ever get. I have several of these and yes the picture is awesome. I recommend just buying Scart rgb cables for all your systems and getting these cables to hook up to the thing http://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/sony ... vertor-bnc
I got most of my scart cables off of ebay though. You can make them if you are handy but yeah I am lazy and just bought them. There are diagrams for the RGB out at gamesx http://www.gamesx.com/index.php
This is also handy and has a built in sync splitter so you wont have problems with it not syncing http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?t=35885 He takes forever to reply on shmups though, I had to go through ebay for one
But I haven't had any problems with any of my systems not syncing directly hooked up to my PVMs.
Your turbografx will need to be RGB modded, there are people at the pcenginefx forums that can perform this mod for you. Most other consoles will output RGB through the AV jack except for NES and older stuff like atari.
