Ok, so poor thread with no responses.

Covering weird games. Good.

Fake sitcom angle. Maybe not so good.

But hey, keep mixing it up and see what works. Experimenting is good as long as the results are heeded.

ok vid. I got the cliche.

you guys should do an episode where you get some little kid versions of you, and you guys redub their voices.

I could be called "classic kid games that dont suck" or some thing like that.

Get some 7 or 8 year old who has no idea of the sega/nintendo rivalry. have 'kid joe' wear the shirt and argue with 'kid dave' in your adult voices.

I'm sure these kids will have no idea what they are doing, but us gamers will have a blast.

But thats up to you Redifer. I'm sure you would be apalled to have two little kids rampaging in your game room. :(

That could be a vid in itself

I enjoyed it but I would say only do it every once in a while.

This thread here marks the most negative response to the episode we've received yet. It was received a lot better than we thought it would be. We had fun doing something different.

I thought it was a good episode at first... I thought the intro was hilarious and well-produced. I thought the wrap-arounds worked fine. But honestly, that one joke at the end kind of beat itself to death. Eventually I just started wishing the time was being spent on games again. So I'd say that the experiment was a success overall, but if you guys were to try something like this again would need to be more mindful of the ration of non-gaming time vs gaming time. My 2cents.

That final sitcom-style joke just dragged on for way too long. Seeing a game like Panic ! was fun, but I think you all need to return to the regular commentary style and save the funny moment for the end after the credits as usual. I like seeing all the weird games I never heard of like that excellent Sega CD episode done in the grainy style which was a nice touch.

A lot of people have been saying that. I wonder why. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that I uploaded it a day earlier and kept it on private until Sunday. I didn't use scheduled release or anything, I did it manually.

EDIT: Found a thread on the Google forums and apparently many people are having this issue. I posted my experience as well with a lot of people telling me that my videos aren't showing up in their subscription feeds. Youtube says "Hopefully we will get this sorted out soon". Yes, hopefully so.

I find this comment a bit interesting as a LOT of people who do this game video thing online have a lot of non-gaming time spent in the majority of their videos, the AVGN being a primary example as well as Pat the Punk, Irate Gamer and a few others I have seen. Some even have entire episodes without any games or game-related peripherals. This is the only time we have done an episode like this and I'm the one to get this complaint. Odd. Oh well, you can't please everyone. And honestly, we don't try to. :)

My advice Joe is... to do whatever the hell you want!

But yeah, whatever feels right is the best way to go IMO, with everything in general.

Great episode btw.
