What was the last movie you've seen?

There are plenty of action movies starring action heroes, only the face of the action hero has changed. You can't possibly think that JGL is now not a certified action hero. Chris Hemsworth, Iko Uwais and others also fall into that category as well.

They be actioning and heroing.

Yup. Coraline looked a teeny tad bit smoother imo, but that doesn't say much. Norman is the better movie.
That's basically what I've been hearing. I liked Coraline well enough, so this should be worth a watch. My girlfriend wants to see it.

You don't watch many movies do you?
Pretty sure the "action hero" died out like, in the mid-90s. Those kinds of movies haven't been made in a really long time.

yep, that what i was thinking after watching. i mean sure you got a few like trejo, but he doesn't have the clout 80's and 90's action heros had. it seems they just buff up real actors now. anyway just a thought....

I guess I'm being kinda specific in what i'm thinking of when I say "action hero". There are definitely still good action movies, and definitely still great actors who happen to star in those action movies.

The Stallone/Schwarzenegger school of action films has more or less died out, though, I think. The musclebound indestructible warrior type, explosions and one-liners galore, etc. Outside of stuff like Expendables, obviously, since it's intentionally trying to recapture that style.

I think you get what I mean, right? I may not be articulating it too well.

A rugged, muscle bound, near invincible guy who can single handily take down an army while saying barely nothing but one-liners?

Kidna sorta maybe I guess. The typical 80s style. You know what I mean.

Help me out a little here.

Guess it is time to start planning for a Tony Scott movie marathon party for this weekend. I wonder if I can pass off a duck for a goose? Volleyball nets are cheap right?
Yeah weird that we were just talking about this here. Bummer, I wonder what sort of affect this will have on Ridley, little brother dead.

Like THOR?

Just razzing ya. Believe me, Hollywood is looking for another Steven Segal, but crowds would rather have their action star be a Will Smith clone. Crowds cling on to previous stars, and that's what makes money, so that's what they'll continue to do. Studios want that beefcake, but that style of movie hasn't caught on in a while. Playing it safe I say.

Ridley is already on contract. He has enough money to drop out, but I doubt his brother's death will stop him from making two more films, if not more. Heart goes out to him though. Imagine being able to put your dreams on screen with your lil' bro while making millions of dollars at the same time. At least Ridley can say he lived a dream for most of his life. Hats off to him.

Jason Statham? A little more stylized, but that one jumps out out me. I mean, have you seen the Crank movies?

I literally want to be Jason Statham when I grow up.

Wasn't Vin Diesel the new action hero for the younger generation?
