You mentioned Shadow of the Colossus. I've noticed that many gamers have played it, but not checked out its predecessor Ico. Ico is one of the most beautiful, artistic games ever made. I think it's better than Shadow of Colossus, which is saying A LOT. Both of them are great of course.ZenLogikos wrote:It's more than just support from me. Braid exemplifies what I love most about gaming. It's one of those titles that really struck a chord with me. It becomes more than just a 'game' - a test of reflexes, etc. Not that this means it is superior to other games because of that fact, nor does it mean that if you don't care for more than just a 'game' that you're incorrect in your gaming choices, nor does it mean that all games should strive to be 'like' these kinds of titles(I love shmups but most would never even try to incorporate what I'm talking about. I suppose Ikaruga comes closest). It's just what I prefer. Shadow of the Colossus is probably my favorite game for this reason, and Braid is pretty high on my list, but I enjoy my share of pure gaming goodness as well(Robotron, Geometry Wars, Pacman CE, Raiden DX...). So I initally supported Braid because I'm a 2D fan, but it became much more.RadarScope1 wrote:Ditto, and I'm willing to support it. I had to go out of town this weekend so I've only played a bit of Braid, but I've fully beaten the first two worlds. Great stuff so far. I love the forehead-slaping "why didn't I see that earlier" feeling that puzzle games can give you.ZenLogikos wrote:I guess I appreciate all the artistic decisions that make up Braid.
XBLA August: Braid, BC:R, Galaga, CASTLE CRASHERS, more

I agree with you on the quality of ICO. I remember 'Toonami' doing a review of it when it came out and I picked it up and loved it then. Shadow just resonated with me more. I've said it before, but only two games will get me to buy a PS3 - God of War 3...and the next game from Fumito Ueda.Gamerforlife wrote:You mentioned Shadow of the Colossus. I LOVE both games but Shadow also hit me a little closer to home than Ico.
Supposedly the next Ueda game will be reveal at TGS in September. With that reveal coming and Little Big Planet around the corner, I am now actively seeking a PS3 on Craigslist. I almost had a 20gb for $300 yesterday! Someone bought it just before I called the guy.

On topic for a moment, Castle Crashers has been confirmed to be 1200 points. Surprising!

Awesome, he's one of my fave designers in this industry, along with guys like Michel Ancel and Tetsuya Mizuguchi. These guys think outside the box and don't cater to industry trends. Plus, they make games that are artsy, but also have actual substance(as in good, quality gameplay)RadarScope1 wrote:I LOVE both games but Shadow also hit me a little closer to home than Ico.

We need more people like that in the industry. Tim Schafer might be another candidate for my list of fave designers if he can make another game as cool as Psychonauts.
yeah, I'm off topic.
