Dust: An Elysian Tail - Just announced for Steam!
This just got on my radar today. It looks pretty damn awesome
If I can spare the cash, I might get this, or at least try the demo

It is awesome, and it is the Elysian Tail...Gamerforlife wrote:This just got on my radar today. It looks pretty damn awesome

The podcast interviewed the creator at PAX East and I think we are doing a follow up.
Also stay tuned for a podcast prize announcement...
But I was playing it a lot last night. It is fun with great visuals. Combat can get a bit repetitive but is still satisfying. Characters and voice acting is done well also.

Bah. XBLA. Why not PSN and Steam as well?
Looks very neat.

Older. Not wiser.
Re: Dust: An Elysian Tail
I am thoroughly enjoying it as well. Dean's a great guy who basically did this game entirely by himself, and everyone should check it out. Easily one of the best XBLA games ever.

I just finished the demo, and promptly purchased it. Needless to say, the game made an extremely good first impression.
How the hell have I not heard of this before today? I guess that's what I get for not keeping up with racketboy podcasts
It's like a metroidvania game with a good beat 'em up/hack n slash combat system and gorgeous visuals on par with a Vanillaware game.

Re: Dust: An Elysian Tail
I really like XBLA right now. Between Dust: An Elysian Tail, I am Alive and Guardian Heroes HD, they've got some quality stuff.
This game's combat feels slightly like the Dishwasher Samurai games. That's a good thing. I like Fidget. Note to the makers of Final Fantasy XIII-2, this is how you make a cute, side kick who is not annoying. I like the funny way she ignores the fourth wall.
Fidget - "AAAAh! Monsters!!!! Do something!!!! Mash buttons!!!"

Coulda sworn at the beginning of the video it said Microsoft Studios.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Bah. XBLA. Why not PSN and Steam as well?![]()

It looks pretty for sure but the voice acting was hit & miss in the preview video - some were good, some were meh/outta place.

Re: Dust: An Elysian Tail
We really should get a list going of good XBLA/PSN games. Give a short description of it, a short review, and a number score.
I'll check this, among the other billion and one XBLA games I'm looking for.
