Dark Horse Books revealed its upcoming line-up for the next year on Thursday which included a localization of The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia.

Hyrule Historia is essentially the encyclopedia of The Legend of Zelda franchise with a beefy 272 pages full of concept art, breakdowns of each game's story, a timeline of all the Zelda games and even an exclusive comic. The book was originally released in Japan at the end of 2011 but Nintendo and Dark Horse Books have worked out a localization deal to bring it to North America.

The description in the Dark Horse listing reads as follows.

Dark Horse Books and Nintendo team up to bring you The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia, containing an unparalleled collection of historical information on The Legend of Zelda franchise. This handsome hardcover contains never-before-seen concept art, the full history of Hyrule, the official chronology of the games, and much more! Starting with an insightful introduction by the legendary producer and video-game designer of Donkey Kong, Mario, and The Legend of Zelda, Shigeru Miyamoto, this book is crammed full of information about the storied history of Link’s adventures from the creators themselves! As a bonus, The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia includes an exclusive comic by the foremost creator of The Legend of Zelda manga — Akira Himekawa!

The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia a hardback book that will go on sale on January 29, 2013 for $34.99 in the United States or $38.99 in Canada. It will be headed to the UK, parts of Europe and Australia at some point as well.
Every Legend of Zelda fan should be rejoicing right now. I know I am.

Why must it be releasing so far away?

Looks awesome! But like most books of this quality, I'll have to wait for it to get around the used market at a decent price.
