Lent, did you try that power strip?

I haven't tried it. Though something like that power strip would work perfect.
I'm just waiting to find something for a better price.

At $30, it might be hard to find something cheaper. But, what's your convenience worth?
I'm getting ready to spend about $100 for a 2.5" box and hdd.

Though it doesn't help when my original thought was that there must be some uber cheap $5 piece of China magic at Radio Shack that would patch up this little annoyance like a band-aid. Sadly that's not the case.

Knowing myself I'll eventually brake down and buy that power strip. Though that would probably be after I search every Goodwill in my area

I actually found a very cheap master control power strip at wallmart for $10!

Despite what the negative reviews say, this thing works as expected. Though I'm only using it for my Wii, I wouldn't trust it with something more heavy duty like a PC.

Yup, I have. It works just like I hoped! Other then that there isn't much to say.
If someone else wants to make their 3.5 drive more unified with the system then this cheap power strip comes recommended. Though I don't know how well it would hold up as an actual surge protector...
