harvest_moon_man's videogame room

Post by harvest_moon_man »

hey everyone. I just made my first post over in the noob introductory thread, so i figured a good place for my second post would be in the game room forum. So here... we... go..... (reading in a joker voice may make that sound cooler lol)

So I have been a fan of videogames since I was about 10, but only got into seriously collecting about 2 years ago. Looking back, my biggest regret is selling all the systems and games from my childhood, but I guess it gives me stuff to look for again now, so its all good. I mostly purchase games and systems for the collection from thrift stores, fleamarkets, pawn shops, and garage sales, as I enjoy the hunt/collecting as much as the gaming itself. Plus, I'm pretty cheap lol. I think I am into my collection for around $1500-$2000 right now. I'm mostly into retro gaming/collecting, but I do enjoy current gen games as well. I collect for: atari 2600, nintendo, super nintendo, n64, gamecube, wii, gameboy, gameboy color, gba, virtual boy, sega master system, genesis, 32x, dreamcast, gamegear, turbografx16, and probably a few I'm forgetting. i will post some pictures below of my collection, but if you have any questions or wish to see anything better, please feel free to ask. also, the pictures are a bit dated, so i hope to get a few more pictures soon of the new addtions (a few boxed systems and games). Enjoy, and thanks for checking out my thread :)

also, if your interested in some of the background of how i built my collection (where i got certain games, how much they were, etc) i do have a youtube channel that i post videogame pickup videos to. I know some people on here enjoy videos like that, and some don't, so either way, its all good 8)

oooh!

so many complete boxes! You're lucky that your finds have complete with box.

I dont look hard enough for CIB, I usually buy whatever I can get my hands on.

Some areas of the country are good for gaming/collecting. Some take a while to get something good. My area is currently on a dry spell.

Most of my own collection is flemarket/thriftstore stuff too.

I see your reflection on your TV.

You are sitting like Scarface on your throne admiring your nice things.

I like your Virtual boy too. I have one as well but its not as complete as yours!

good stuff man!

This is the kind of collection I love to sit and stare at, but there's no way in hell I could personally own that many games and still have my sanity intact. haha I love how it's nice and organized though. :D

haha its gotten to be a fair size, but I do intend to try them all at some point or another. and thanks, one of my biggest pet peeves is a messy gameroom, so I tend to try to keep mine somewhat organized.
