What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

:) Me and that movie are like peas and carrots.

I mentioned this was coming:

Remember when I made a "this is what I think will happen list" about Rises and I was fairly dead-on? My predictions for ROBOCOP are the opposite of that list.

I'm still keeping my tired fingers crossed that this movie will satisfy like a Snickers.

I don't see why there's all the hate for totall recall. I made sure to keep a open kind not judge it for being a remake etc and
It wasn't that bad.

If they didn't want people to judge it for being a remake, they probably shouldn't have made a remake.

Read some stuff about the Robocop thing elsewhere. Yeah...

You know, I've never watched the original Robocop. Should probably correct that...

I highly disagree. The prequels are far less important to today's kids than the original trilogy was to people my age and older when we were kids.
I know enough people who were in the 5-10 age group when Phantom Menace came out and that is their favorite Star Wars movie. I have a cousin who was not allowed to watch Star Wars (super protective parents) who was 9 when the films came out and it was his first of the films.

Ofcourse the prequels are less important cinema historywise, but there is an entire generation who loves them.
I could never agree with that. The original Star Wars movies completely captivated an entire generation of people in way that will never be duplicated again by the Star Wars franchise. The original Trilogy had an effect on fandom, on movies, and on pop-culture in general in a way that the prequel trilogy could never hope to achieve.

That has to be the back of the BR box quote.

Had a theater all to myself yesterday...well, my wife and her brother in law and his fiance' were there too, but in my mind I had it all to myself.

So, what to watch in a theater by yourself (kind of) with a theater grade quality projector that has hdmi ports?

PEE-WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE

My b-i-l's fiance' had never watched this. I think she was crying with laughter as soon as the Mr.T Cereal made an appearance. Pee-Wee simply gesticulating on the screen (no jokes please) is hilarious. He doesn't need to do another movie, but he does.

THE DARK KNIGHT

I don't think the theater sound system could get louder, but it did. Two-fold: Loved the sound of the guns and explosions, didn't like the fact that Pee-Wee's soundtrack was better by miles, and miles, and miles.

The story has its flaws for sure (Gotham PD has to be made up of idiots), but seeing Batman on screen (he even does detective work!!!) so often and his less than fortunate battle with the Joker make up for all the silly stuff. The batpod stuff is the most exciting "chase" moments in all on Nolan's films; you almost feel like you are on the pod with batman. And it was well paced, unlike the "bat" in Rises where it seemed to go at about 15mph at best, but could go well over 1000k with a huge bomb strapped to it.

Besides the silly stuff, TDK remains one of my favorite Hero movies. It has a great way of keeping almost everyone I know involved.
