I got my charger!
It allowed me to discover that my laptop is busted. Power socket is no longer seated on the motherboard.
... I swear I'm not making this up!
So today I get to return my 360 (barf) and go pick up a new laptop, probably from best buy or wal mart. Any suggestions would be appreciated, I'm dumb when it comes to computers.

Didn't really like this game, nor did I put a whole lot of time into it. Posted 549,180.

I put probably 5-6 hours into it, and barely broke 300K. I suck.
foxhound will have to show me his mad skillz live and in person next weekend!

I don't really have "mad skills".
I'm just a glutton for punishment, and I also put like 3-4 hrs. into this almost every night this week.
Cookie was pissed 'cause I had to use her laptop to play.
Basically, I just ground away repititiously to achieve my results.
Where you guys put like 3-6 hrs. in, I put like around 40.

I'll try. I'm garbage with a stick, though. I use a pad for everything.

Maybe you'll have show me your DDP: Resurrection skillz.
Re: Shmup of the Month Club (Month off for STGT12)
sure, though I haven't played in weeks so I may be a bit rusty. It's a deal, though. I'll hook up a pad to a laptop for MAME if you'd rather...foxhound1022 wrote:Maybe you'll have show me your DDP: Resurrection skillz.

I was hitting stage 3 boss and 360-390K my last 7-8 runs and just let it die there. I don't like the idea of save-states - i'm sure it helps for something like this, but it just feels "wrong", in a way.
I did just see this:
Sik dominated last year too, he's just insane. And he always waits until an hour or two remain to post a score. He literally plays the game all-week. I don't know what he put into this one, I wouldn't be surprised at 80+ hours.
I did just see this:
I can't imagine completing both loops on that game. And he probably no-missed the entire thing - seeing that score means he got some huge "extra lives" bonuses upon completion of the TLB.sikraiken - 33,104,710 - 200% - wolfmame

He is a dominating and remarkable force. That said, every time I look at the high score threads over there I get very humbled. One thing I like about the recent activity of this subforum and the SotM club is that we all have a fighting chance of competing with one another in at least one game or another becasue none of us are really die-hard in quite the same fashion as some of the folks over there. Hell, a lot of the best players over there are essentially pro-gamers in a genre that doesn't have much in the way of actual pro-gaming events...mjmjr25 wrote:I was hitting stage 3 boss and 360-390K my last 7-8 runs and just let it die there. I don't save state practice either, but it does seem like that would be what is needed to get to the top 20% or so, which is what most people in that bracket seem to do. I also get the sense that they have played the genre, almost exclusively, for a long time.
I am just looking to improve my ranking at the end over the last two years. I finished 104/190 (actual people playing) last year and 157/199 the year before that, so I hope to improve a bit more again this year. Cracking the top half is the goal for this year, but we'll see what games come along...
Oh, and I also want to beat noise.
