The Last Guardian cancelled?

I'd love to eat my words, but this game won't be released, and I'd come to terms with that quite some time ago.
This game's development process reminds me somewhat of Shenmue III: The developers still want the game to be finished and released, but the powers that be have essentially made up their minds on the matter.

Yeah, I can't really think of a big budget title that Sony hasn't brought to launch, but considering Ueda's departure from Sony, and that it seems it wasn't amicable, I just don't see this one happening.

At least Ico and such aren't really part of such a heavily intertwined franchise. Technically, Ueda could continue his vision at another company regardless of what happens. Unlike Murayama and Gensou Suikoden.

I'm hoping that Sony is going to change the name instead of canceling the game. I mean they might be switching the title since they have the last of us also coming out and don't want to confuse people.

I'm hoping they don't pull a mega man legends 3.

Hmmmmmmm. Probably an interesting story as to what's going on inside that studio with all this drama. Too bad we'll never know.
Hopefully the game can be made to its creator's vision...
