Can I get a proper run down of the naming scheme for Gradius games on GB?

On the Konami Classics GBC kind-of-somewhat-colorized versions, the two games are called

Gradius
Gradius II

on black and white DMG GameBoy, I've found ROMs called Gradius and Gradius Intersteller Assault.

Which one is first? Is Intersteller Assault Gradius 2? Why were they called Nemesis in Europe? Or was that a North American thing too? I want to talk about them in the top 100, but I have no idea what to call them.

Parodius Da! just became Parodius, so why did Gradius have so many name changes? Gah!

in the US, it's just as I said in my last post:

1st game = Nemesis
2nd game = Gradius: Interstellar Assault

In Europe, they're known as Nemesis and Nemesis 2.

Nemesis is what Gradius was originally called in Europe. Later games in the series reverted back to Gradius.

I could post a pretty epic list of games here I think are worthy of being nominated. I'll come back and post some thoughts soon.

As a game boy player / collector I find it hard to make these lists... many subjective choices, re objective ones. I mean , games that I Love might not always be so good...

Some relatively unknown games I really enjoyed playing:
* Star Saver , and the sequel Max (rubble saver in Japan). Loved the music.
* Cyraid. It's like Donkey Kong '94. Perfect on the Game Boy
* Booby Kids. Or was it Booby Boys? Anyways, another one of those action/puzzle games that make it very well on the system.
* Crayon Chin Chan 1-4 (maybe not 2 so much). Enjoyed the music.
* Tekkyu Fight! The Great Battle Gaiden. Perfect action game.
* Bomberman Max. First really fun bomberman game for the system, i think.
* Blaster Master Boy. What Robo Warrior should have been like.
* Parodius. Excellent port. (unlike Nemesis)

damn, I've never heard of half of those. Will have to try and decide if they get a place on the list. Thanks for the suggestions.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I have the list completed now and will start publishing it soon. Expect the first entry, #100-91 in the next week or so. I've taken everyone's suggestions seriously and tried out every single one of them. They all won't make the final list, but keep the suggestions coming for the honorable mentions list that will accompany my article.

^A bit late. I was going to throw up Harvest Moon 3 and Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge. I kinda feel like Mega Man will show up at some point anyway.

After the prince made a cameo in Link's Awakening on the Game Boy, I had to look up a little gem called Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru (For the Frog the Bell Tolls) - a fairly unknown Japanese action RPG worth mentioning. There's a fan translation available for anyone interested.

Warioland: Super Mario Land III is my favorite gameboy game.

Ninja Boy II is a game that doesn't get mentioned often enough. It's an odd combination of beat 'em up and rpg. Ninja Boy II is notable for it's great sprite designs that really push the original B&W Game Boy. This is one underrated game.

Tetris. This one pretty much demands the #1 spot. Does it require any explanation? I still consider the Game Boy version the best version of Tetris.
