SNES To Genesis Controller Adapter?
Is there such a thing? I got the RetroGen adapter for SNES so I can play Genesis games on my SNES but I'd like to be able to use my Genesis 6-button controllers as well. Are there any adapters for this?

Yeah, a GEN deck isn't pricey at all, and if you get a model 3...it's the size of your hand - it has almost a zero footprint.
As for adapters, i'm sure there are - I used to have a pad that had both a SNES and GEN input on it, so they are certainly compatible in that regard. You could always have someone pad-had the SNES input onto a GEN pad. Lots of options...

The thing is, I just dropped 35$ on this adapter. I also own two Genesis model 2s that do not work very well. I don't really want to spend a lot more money on this.

It probably would have cost you less than $35 to just get a Genesis...
Re: SNES To Genesis Controller Adapter?
Why do you hate the Genesis so? What did it ever do to you? That adapter is nonsense -- not a very good clone, tons of sound issues, scrolling problems. Dump it as if you ingested a pure fibre breakfast and re-invest in a real Genesis.darthmunky wrote:I got the RetroGen adapter for SNES so I can play Genesis games on my SNES

Re: SNES To Genesis Controller Adapter?
Well upon purchase, I was expecting it to be just an adapter, not a clone. and no separate composite cables. Just straight genesis play through the snes. A miracle from the gods of retro gaming. If I knew all of this beforehand, I would not have purchased it. Plus I have gone through two Genesis consoles in the past few months. None of them ever work well. So far, this adapter works better than any of my Sega consoles ever have. And yes, I am a Nintendo fanboy, lol. What do you all suggest I do then? Sell this thing and find a model 1 Genesis? I saw one today for 35$ but I want the one that says "High Definition Graphics" on it. I could also go for a model 3 but I really think they look ugly. I love the look of the model 2's but they are the most unreliable system I've ever experienced.

Really? Genesises are practically indestructible compared to half of the non-Sega consoles out there. Disc readers on the SCD, Saturn, and DC aside, Sega stuff tends to be pretty durable- and that's coming from a fellow Nintendo fan.darthmunky wrote:Well upon purchase, I was expecting it to be just an adapter, not a clone. and no separate composite cables. Re: SNES To Genesis Controller Adapter?
The only real problem with the Genesis 2 is that the solder joints for the power jack tend to crack over time, which is an incredibly easy fix.darthmunky wrote:I love the look of the model 2's but they are the most unreliable system I've ever experienced.

Poor darthmunkey :/
I guess the consensus is...get a Genesis if you want to use Genesis pads
