@Luke: Good luck with your BFF. Like others in the thread, I've been through that sort of thing, so I offer you either 1) a hug or 2) a manly pat on the back, if it makes you feel any better. Also, pets to the pup.

Our cat was a rescue as well -- there's a lot of that in this thread! She was part of Petco's traveling bandwagon of cat adoptions, where they bring a dozen or so rescued felines into the store on a particular day of the week.

The information they gave us stated that she was "abandoned," but that could indicate any scenario from "owner died" to "found sheltering in the storage area of a department store." There was no further information on her personal history, and I always wonder what her life was like before she moved in with us.

I'm going to guess she fuzzed up the pillowcases in other people's linen closets though, for starters. Just a hunch.

Thanks. I'll take the hug with a manly pat on the back.

Many good rubbins to the pup.

Blood work today, surgery tomorrow.

My cat Mango. He proceeds Onyx my previous cat who died from crystal build up in his urinary tract. Mango is the only cat I've seen with a goatee.

Apparently I took a long nap on my dog's bed while keeping Ripley in a sleeper hold:

My wife took a few pictures of us, none of them showcasing my handsomeness ;)

The best part was when my wife said "You both smiled the entire time".

Having a step-daughter that works for a vet, we have had many varied animals cross our door:

Some baby geese that she brought home the same day that I totaled my car because someone stopped for a family of geese in the road. Talk about irony.

Our cat Nessie and her little squirrel friends:

An owl with a broken leg that had to be put down:

Our original pet, Missy, who had to be put down at age 16.

Oscar, who has respiratory problems since the day he was born and keeps sneezing kitty cat snot on my laptop. He is at least 10 now:

One from the reptile family:

And of course I have to show how we used to discipline our granddaughter:

Any tips on keeping them as healthy as possible regarding the chronic respiratory disease?...

Both my girls have it. And the smallest has severe lung problems also. When she coughs it sounds like someone with a very bad case of bronchitis. And I fear one day she won't be strong enough to cough it up anymore, and drown in it. I've already tried so many things, nothing seems to help...

Don't really know what to tell you. He was born in a hay loft and has had problems with random sneezing and coughing since birth. Not pretty to have hum rubbing his nose and your face and let go with a wet sneeze. He also had to have all of his teeth removed and has a tumor in his head. Still going even though he gets chased around by our 2 year old cat. Some mornings there are little hair puffs all over the living room and dining room. I swear that we have cleaned up enough hair to make another cat.
