What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I've been waiting for Tarantino to release the Kill Bill "Whole Bloody Affair" cut for years now. :(
It's apparently gotten some very limited theater screenings, but I want my home video dammit!

I imagine watching them in a single film would be a really interesting and very cool experience.

Is there not a Criterion Collection of it?

No.

We're still waiting on it. It's supposed to basically be Vol. 1 and 2 spliced together, along with all of the shots that were cut out of the US release to keep it an R rating (unrated versions are available in Japan iirc, they have some cool stuff in the crazy 88 fight that was cut out here) and supposedly a new animated segment in the O-Ren chapter.

There've been talks about it floating around for years and years now. Tarantino just hasn't got the time to get around to it I guess.

I have the Japanese cut of Vol 1. I feel like the O-Ren bar scene is longer -- more guts spilling on the floor. The Crazy 88 scene is in color. I can't recall if the anime scene is longer, as it's been a while since I've watched the US cut.

There's also a cut scene on one of the DVD's as extras -- I forget if Vol 1 or 2, probably 1 -- where Bill gets in a sword fight on the street and kills a dude by opening his sheath and slitting his throat in one quick motion. It's pretty badass.

The extended animation was supposed to be commissioned exclusively for the Whole Bloody Affair cut.

All the other stuff you mention is supposed to be in it too.

Yeah that was also on the US version.

I'll give Quentin, or "QT" as I call him , a call and ask why he is slacking off.

His number is still 555-2424 right?

Picked up some fantastic finds at Goodwill in the last month or so, and all of them for dirt cheap:

-Alien 1-3
-Back to the Future 1-3
-Batman (1989) (I did have the original VHS release, but I can't find it now)
-Batman Returns
-Con-Air
-The Fifth Element
-Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (the only one I didn't have already)
-A Night At the Roxbury
-Robocop
-Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)
-Star Trek III: The Search For Spock
-Star Trek: Generations
-Star Trek: First Contact
-Star Trek: Nemesis
-Star Wars: The Original (Unaltered) Trilogy (I had the Special Edition one already, HAN SHOT FIRST!)
-Total Recall
-Young Guns

And I had the original Conan: The Barbarian in my hands, but when I opened the case to look at the condition of the disc, "My Fair Lady" was inside instead.

I don't even bother picking up VHS tapes. Helps that I don't have a working VCR anymore though.

I'll sometimes look through DVDs, but unless it's something highly unlikely to get ever get a blu ray release, I usually pass on them.
