F-Zero by far is my favorite post-DC Sega game. JSRF is close though.
I can understand wanting to play multiplayer but for me, AX was about the machine. And it was a helluva ride~fastbilly1 wrote:How did I forget Fzero GX/AX? GX is awesome and one of my favorite games of last generation. My only gripe with it is that it is splitscreen only multiplayer. Had it had System link, I would have been the best game of last gen handsdown.
Now I have to wait for someone to crack the AX dumps so I can play multiplayer on Dolphin...

Yeah, and AX cab would be a great thing to have in the man cave. If I had a man cave. And a few thousand to spare to procure an AX machine.
One of these days I want desperately to own a 4-seat SCUD race or Daytona 2 setup. That's my mid-life crisis goal. Forget a real car.

Rhythm Thief and The Emperor's Treasure for 3DS has been really good so far. Its like Elite Beat Agents and Professor Layton had an adorable french kid.
I highly recommend looking into it. A free demo is available for download on the 3DS eShop.

I love Valkyria Chronicles and that is probably my favourite post-Dreamcast Sega game. At first I was a little disappointed that the game was made up of majority cut scenes to tell the story, with battles in between. But then I got really engrossed into the story and the gameplay became far more in depth as you progressed. The strategy gameplay is a beaut to play too.
In addition to that, the hints at adult themes such as racism and WWII really appeal to me. Plus I love the Skies of Arcadia cameos. I wasn't even aware of them until I started playing and I saw Vyss and the girl who's name always escapes me...

...was it Aika?
Anyway, for me it'd certainly be Gunvalkyrie, Outrun 2006 and JSRF.
Although that said, i'm going to stick my neck out and say Phantasy Star Portable 2. Awful intro song and slightly annoying (but improving later) characters aside, i'm really enjoying it as a sci-fi dungeon crawler that i can drop into and out of every other day, grab some loot, and maybe think about doing a story mission or two.
Also, there's not much for me to dislike about mashing a two- headed dragon, whilst playing as a character that's wearing trainers and board shorts, wielding some sort of futuristic laser halberd.

Both are amazing games, and are of the quality you'd expect from the Sega of old. Panzer Dragoon: Orta in particular is just a gorgeous game, almost a piece of art.
And of course the Sonic Advance games and Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 (I still haven't played Episode II yet) were very fun, me being an old-school Sonic fan.

The first Sonic Advance was technically, just barely contemporary with the Dreamcast
.
I remember being shocked by it, Sonic on a Nintendo handheld. The world was truly coming to an end.
Great game though, as were its sequels.
