GameCube - Best to own forever
Re: GameCube - Best to own forever
Nice round of games, a good mix of genres! Great to mention Soul Caliber II having Link, some may bypass it for the newer versions on other consoles. Maybe a mention the Gameboy Player?

Shut up, Viewtiful Joe is amazing.BoringSupreez wrote:My beefs with the list are that LoZ: WW and MGS: TTS are absent and that Viewtiful Joe is present.
Re: GameCube - Best to own forever
Well I can see the point there, but when not compared to other versions and held up against the gamecube library alone its inevitable that game will get played time and time again (one of my wifes goals is to someday beat me at it lol). Besides the snes Mario Kart I dont really care much for the N64 or Wii versions. So thats how I came to that conclusion.retrosportsgamer wrote:Usually omissions like that are because there is a better version of the same game in other generations. So I guess my question would be, would you pull out your GameCube specifically to play DD? I'm interested in your opinion.TEKTORO wrote:Nice article and I can agree on all of them, but there's a bunch more imo surprised that theres no Mario Kart dd.
On a personal opinion I also a big fan of Smugglers Run Warzones and Custom Robo which are on my Gamecube forever list. (damn and those RE remakes too)

I must say I do think Mario Kart Wii is just a tad more fun than Double Dash.
Custom Robo is totally awesome though and that would be a good one for a list like this.

The more I look at this list, the less charitable I feel about it. I think these guys did zero research and / or never owned a Gamecube.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

I honestly like Double Dash better, because I felt that Mario Kart Wii was just kinda - pfft! - Here it is!
IDK it just felt rushed and didn't have the polish of earlier installments. IMO Mario Kart 7 is everything Wii should have been; it's excellent.

I feel the omission of the Resident Evil games is criminal. Definitely the remake of the first game was the best version and I think the other versions of 0,2,3, CV, and 4 are probably the best as well outside of the new HD remakes.

I concur; the revamp of the original is amazing.Purkeynator wrote:I feel the omission of the Resident Evil games is criminal. Definitely the remake of the first game was the best version and I think the other versions of 0,2,3, CV, and 4 are probably the best as well outside of the new HD remakes.

I don't mind that they didn't include RE 2, 3, and 4 because 2 and 3 are just as good on DC and 4 is better on Wii. REmake should have made the list though, I forgot about that one.foxhound1022 wrote:I concur; the revamp of the original is amazing.Purkeynator wrote:I feel the omission of the Resident Evil games is criminal. Re: GameCube - Best to own forever
I understand RE4 got better with the other versions, but when it was an exclusive to gamecube WOW (awesome).
When I read the title GameCube - Best to own forever I just think its not considering other consoles to compare or maybe it does considering the limited selection and obscurity of the picks?
