Maybe it was too large to use the upload function. Host the picture at photobucket or something and link it, or make it smaller.

Hmm, I'm not sure what component X1 is, but it looks like it needs to be completely replaced. Maybe someone else will have an idea.

That component, X1, is a crystal oscillator. You can get a replacement easily for cheap (shipping will cost more than the part itself).

I'm not sure of the exact frequency of the crystal used on those carts is. I think it's 21.4Mhz. However, I believe you can get a slightly higher value without a problem whatsoever. People have overclocked the GSU chips this way.

Read this thread: http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php ... highlight=

A few posts down, Marshallh posted his first success with overclocking. He used a standard 24Mhz crystal with two 18pf capacitors. So I assume you can just grab a standard 22Mhz crystal and install it the same way he did(with the two caps) and it'll act just like the crystal that came on the cart.

22Mhz crystal: http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/e ... ND/2207669

18pf capacitor: http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/e ... -ND/946333

If the crystal used on the cart is indeed 21.4Mhz, and you wanted to get a closer match, I found a 21.47727MHz crystal on DigiKey here: http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/e ... -ND/110145

You just don't want to get a value lower than what came on the cart. If you do, then you'll probably be underclocking the GSU. It would probably cause problems like freezing.
