So one of my friends who had previously tried to get me to buy and play Diablo III with him mentioned that he was done with it and had decided that it sucks as it had no staying power like D2 did. I'd seen a bunch of posts in various places with people complaining about it after finishing and searching for Diablo III afterthoughts finds lots of people's similar thoughts like these.

3 Posts over 10 days that go :) > :| > :( I'm bored with it and still have to pay my friend who imported it for me

That's it?

So this thread hasn't had a post in over 2 months and I really didn't see a whole lot of other discussion going on. I still have no intention of playing the game even though I loved and played D1 and D2 a lot, but I'm curious if anyone else here is actually still playing or if they're already bored and have moved on.

I played through the initial playthrough (so around level 30) and that was it. I may play more, but just wasn't really up for repeating what I'd just done.

However, as I'd never managed to stick with D2 for more than an hour or so, I count it as an improvement

Personally, I tend to discount a lot of the complaints as not taking into account external factors. Similar to how people rarely find something that surpasses their first MMO love. Maybe it's the game itself. Or maybe it's that people are in a different stage of life now and/or their tastes have changed. You're always going to have detractors anyway, especially when the hype is so huge.

My point though is that that one guy went from loving it to done in 10 days. My friend was giving me shit for refusing to play because of the online requirement and auction house. He was loving it at first too and kept saying "But free trial pass... free!" Now he's flip-flopped. Anyway, as I said, I'm curious about people that liked it when they started, if their opinion changed, and if they were people that previously played D1 or D2 for years.

I'm struggling to enjoy D2 after playing D3.

I find it very difficult to play Diablo 2 after having played 3.
