Red Dawn's a bit campy, but all in all, I get a kick out of it every time I see it.
If I had to see a movie based on a game, hmm...
Maybe Street Fighter? Wait, they did that.
Mortal Kombat? Did that too.
Tomb Raider? Did it.
Mario Brothers? Done.
Double Dragon? Did it years ago.
Silent Hill? You better believe it.
Resident Evil? Even got two sequels.
Max Payne? Currently working on it.
Wing Commander? You better believe it.
Dead or Alive? Totally did it.
House of the Dead? Yep. Twice.
Bloodrayne? Oh yeah, that got done.
Alone in the Dark? You betcha.
Doom? Hell yes.
Postal? Damn straight.
Hitman? Yeah, should have seen that coming.
Dungeon Siege? Yes.
Far Cry? They're working on it.
Wait for it...wait for it....Sweet Home? Released alongside the game in Japan.
And considering the success of all of these, and the overall quality...I don't know if they should keep making these.
For the record, the Million Man Petition to get Uwe Boll to quit making movies is at just over 300,000 votes. I suggest we all sign it...
If you could make a film based on your fave game(s)....

That was an interesting little game. Really loved that sense of comaraderie and your squad was actually useful. Nice little gemMozgus wrote:Hmm, had to think for a while. Only decent idea I got so far is Freedom Fighters. There's bound to be a movie or two out there that depicts Russians invading the US in a modern day "what if" war scenario, but I've yet to see any. I liked how the game had average joes becoming patriotic heroes in times of desperation. Their underground hideouts would definitely be featured to maintain how the heroes must hide like rats from the Soviet rule, and plan carefully. Kyd's soundtrack would be kept intact, and he would provide additional works for it. I'd like a relatively unknown but talented cast, as any big names might distract from those characters.

Mickey Rourke might be good for it. He played Marv in Sin City very well and Marv is a similar character to Duke.Peffico wrote:1) Duke Nukem 64![]()
2) Duh action style with a bad ass guy with no emo past because yeah there are no more badasses in games and movies anymore. They usually just weild some guns or swords and can't stop crying over their past.
3) Something like Predator 2
4) I dunno who would star but some new undiscovered talent. NOT VIN DISEL.
Come on Duke Nukem would be great. He went out to save the world because the aliens were ruining his T.V. watching. And besides he has great one liners.

We need more movies like this.... sigh *goes to watch First Blood, Predator, total recall, etc"
I actually wish they would stop making movies out of video games. They always do suck a horrible job. Silent Hill was the only one I kinda liked. Don't even get me started on Super Mario Bros again.
That being said:
Ninja Gaiden (original NES series)
directed by Takashi Miike
the crazy Satanist plot line would fit with his style. Visually you could do alot with it as long as he stayed away from bad CG this could be sweet. think "Dead or Alive" series done Shinobi no Mono (classic 60's "Ninja" film) style with a twisted plot and some great action scenes.
Or
Ninja Gaiden
direcred by Wong Kar Wai.
less action more stylish with internal strugles and lots of convoluted relationships. Lots of messed up flashbacks and. think "2046" & "In the Mood for Love" with the Satanist plot line and Ninja's. Can't go wrong.

I love the part in "Postal" where Uwe Boll says "My movies are financed with nazi gold" and then offers to pay "Mini Me" in gold teeth before being shot.Ack wrote: For the record, the Million Man Petition to get Uwe Boll to quit making movies is at just over 300,000 votes. At least the guy can poke fun at himself!
Personally I see no problem with him making films. I won't pay to watch them, most certainly not, but the guy deserves to have some fun... and he probably has a lot of fun doing it. It's like a gamers dream come true to sit around and make campy fun of their beloved video games.
Can any one say "fan fiction!?"
"WHO THE FUCK IS UWE BOLL AND WHAT DID WE DO TO HIM TO DESERVE THIS!?"
