Agreed. That point in stage 5 where you break out into "space" and the music just perfectly suits the visuals...I still get chills there. You definitely get a similar vibe from it to "The Unexpected Enemy" in Panzer Dragoon 2. Fucking epic.Seganerd wrote:I don't know about you guys but thats definitely one of the best games for the DC, The 5th level is just amazing. You need to have awesome speakers cranked out to get the feeling right.

It's hard to even put that final level in Rez into words, just incredible. And the level 4 boss, just awesome. That track that plays just gets me pumped up and the battle is such an adrenaline inducing visual treatMozgus wrote:Agreed. I bought it when it came out, and I had never even heard of it. I just knew who the designer was, and it looked cool.Seganerd wrote:I don't know about you guys but thats definitely one of the best games for the DC, The 5th level is just amazing. One of these days far in the future, maybe I'll get to level 5 and it will blow my mind.

Its all about level 5 and Adam Freelands track. I don't know about these songs sounding "midi" whatever that means. If anything they almost use too much rough sampling. Level 5 is the best musical level in video games period. The ending music just hits me like a ton of bricks. I never have felt complete after beating the game in a weird and amazing game.

I was really impressed by Space Channel 5's final stage as well. Mizuguchi his team really knew know how to end a game on a real high note.gradualmeltdown wrote:Its all about level 5 and Adam Freelands track. Love this game!!!!!!!!! One of my all time favs! Crank up the music on this one.
Re: Hg101's article on Rez
definitely on my faves list.
I have a Euro version that has a defect (so ihave to abuse my dreamcast to get it to work) i burned version to avoid any future dreamcast abuse, and the xbla version which i play from bed.
I LOVE the song from stage 5... its just so much darker than the rest of the game.
