I've been trying to set up my Modded Xbox (Aladdin Advance mod chip & 120 GB HDD) to FTP for the past two days now and I'm having difficulty. It's running EvoX dash.
I have a Mac with Fetch and Transmit. I also have a PC with FileZilla.
I have a router. I also have a CAT5 cable.
I'm following instructions found online for every combination of the above and nothing is working.
I notice that in the Network Settings on the xbox the IP is blank. No matter how many times I change it, save & exit and reboot the xbox, it stays blank. I'm guessing this is the problem?
Anyone else experience something like this?
Any ideas?
Please help!
Thanks!

I have no experience with it, buuuuut are you trying to give it an IP that's already in use on your network? Perhaps it is realizing there is a conflict and dumping it?

Have you tried letting it discover the I.P on its own?

Well, in most routers you can assign IPs based on MAC addresses, so I suggest setting the xbox to dhcp and then use the router to assign the IP you want it to have. That way the IP stays the same, but the xbox doesn't have to save any settings.
Re: oXbox IP stays Blank (FTP help, please!)
Been a while since I've done it, but I'm pretty sure I always assigned the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway myself (ex - 192.168.1.51, 255.255.255.0, 192.168.1.1 for my old linksys - the .51 I just chose at random as it's in my available IP addresses but far from any DHCP assigned addresses). I don't recall my XBOX ever using DHCP properly, but once the correct numbers were punched in I was online and ready to go.

Re: oXbox IP stays Blank (Solved!)
Solved!
I used dhcp to let the router assign an ip to the xbox. it would connect and show the folders but would time out and wouldn't let me FTP anything.
BUT now that the xbox had an ip it allowed me to change it to 192.168.1.51 and it saved and from there it allowed me to FTP files onto it
thanks for your help, guys!
