Generations Lost and Blackthorne are two of the best games in the same vein as Flashback. Both are pretty decent games on their own. Generations Lost can be wicked tough in some areas. The somewhat slow controls of Blackthorne makes doing some jumps required later in the game and which require precision very difficult to pull off. The only criticizm I have of GL is that the controls are a little twitchy (overly sensitive) and the difficulty level is pretty high right in the first level. It's worth a little effort though. I've finished both games and can report they are a good time.ott0bot wrote:Also has anyone played Generations Lost? I'm pretty sure it's by the same creators, but you're a caveman. Never heard anything really good about it though.
I'd recomend playing the Oddworld games too if you haven't. They feel very much akin in platforming style and puzzle elements. Definately in the original Prince of Persia style as well.
Personally, I like the sounds and music in the original cart version of Out of This World to the sounds and music included in the version on the Sega CD of Heart of the Alien. Not sure why they chose to update the sounds, but I don't think they improved on the original.
