Arcade Stick for Gamecube
Arcade Stick for Gamecube
I was wanting to get into Gamecube fighters, mostly 2D, so I'm considering picking up an arcade stick. Thing is, I don't know of any decent ones and can't seem to find any online. Do any of you know which companies produced sticks for this platform and whether or not there were any good ones?

There is only one decent - stock - 3rd party stick, the HORI Soul Calibur stick:

Pelican made an "arcade quality" stick and a some other mimic sticks, but both are crap.
You can always use a ???>GCN adapter on a diff. stick you like, or commission a pad-hack or custom stick, but the one above is the only legit / stock stick available.

There is also the generic Hori stick. Same color and set up, minus the underaged girls.mjmjr25 wrote:There is only one decent - stock - 3rd party stick, the HORI Soul Calibur stick:
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

yes the Hori is the way to go. I had that, the Soul Calibur and the erm... Shaft. The latter two were horrible. The Hori is excellent build, excellent feel, super responsive.
EDIT: of course you could also just get a GCN/PS2 adapter and open up yourself to a million choices of great PS2 sticks as well.

Agree, the Playstation One/Two controller has the widest range of adaptors for other systems, put your money in a PS1/PS2 Arcade Stick. It can be adapted later on if you decide to for your other consoles.noiseredux wrote:EDIT: of course you could also just get a GCN/PS2 adapter and open up yourself to a million choices of great PS2 sticks as well.

agreed. The only non-PS2 stick I use now is for 360. I have PS2 adapters for PS3, PC, DC, GCN and Saturn. It's nice to only need one stick for all those consoles.
