The company actively donates money to political activist groups who oppose gay marriage.

So now that I'm a bit more up to speed myself, actual hateful stuff, not just 'not supporting' gay marriage.

From GLAAD:
We previously had the debate about whether "ex-gay therapy" is hurtful in the locked "Homosexuality" thread, and here's what I posted there:Since 2003, Chick-fil-A has given more than $5 million to organizations that actively work to hurt LGBT Americans. These groups include the American Family Association, which the Southern Poverty Law Center deems a hate group. Additionally, Chick-fil-A has donated to groups that have gone on record as calling for "criminal sanctions" against gay and lesbian Americans, as well as groups that promote so-called "ex-gay therapy," a practice both debunked and deemed as harmful by nearly every major medical authority in the country.
So Chik-Fil-A openly supports groups that seek to criminalize, disenfranchise, ban, and in some cases cause harm through "repair" to homosexuals.American Medical Association (2003)
“Our AMA opposes the use of ‘reparative’ or ‘conversion’ therapy that is based on the assumption that homosexuality per se is a mental disorder or based upon the a priori assumption that the patient should change his/her homosexual orientation.”
American Psychoanalytic Association (2000)
“Psychoanalytic technique does not encompass purposeful efforts to ‘convert’ or ‘repair’ an individual’s sexual orientation. Such directed efforts are against fundamental principles of psychoanalytic treatment and often result in substantial psychological pain by reinforcing damaging internalized homophobic attitudes.”
American Psychiatric Association (1998)
“The American Psychiatric Association opposes any psychiatric treatment, such as reparative or conversion therapy, which is based upon the assumption that homosexuality per se is a mental disorder or based upon the priori assumption that a patient should change his/her sexual homosexual orientation.” The APA removed homosexuality from its list of disorders in 1973.

The idiots who publicly boycott Chik-Fil-A are the same ones whose taxes support our military industrial complex under which millions of brown people of the wrong religion suffer daily, hypocrite PC sheeple is all they are.
And I really think this is all a work dreamed up by an imaginative Chik-Fil-A exec. Controversy equals cash... local Chik-Fil-A's have been had outrageously long lines the past few days.

I'll take this with a grain of salt since it is the hufpo after all.
So some time a philanthropist gave money to a charity that had a member who once said "gays should be exported"? Is that the degree of separation?
Nothing I've read about the President of the company has screamed "We hate gays!".
Don't get me wrong, I think the company has made some dumb things, but in no way do I think the chickfil-a people are on a parade to "cure gay people".
That would kind of be funny though. A parade against gay people. Even an anti-gay parade couldn't keep gay people away from a parade.

I've seen links to similar things elsewhere too. That was just a convenient one I found quick, and I took the time to read it.Luke wrote:I'll take this with a grain of salt since it is the hufpo after all.

Riggghht, so, nothing pisses me off more than people who don't support the men and women of the military. I have tons of military family... its not as simple as anyone makes it out to be. "Oh, they're killing all the Muslims for no reason." Yes, they kill innocents. But how do you know who to trust in that situation? You can't speak the language, the area is unknown to you, customs are unknown to you. You can't refuse your superiors, or else you get punished. Moral dilemas abound...AppleQueso wrote:Because people directly decide exactly where their tax dollars go.Bikeage wrote:The idiots who publicly boycott Chik-Fil-A are the same ones whose taxes support our military industrial complex under which millions of brown people of the wrong religion suffer daily, hypocrite PC sheeple is all they are.

I don't drink hard liquor but I have always been amused that Royal Crown goes well with Crown Royal. Serendipity!
@Bikeage: Funny but I don't remember that happening. I must have missed it while I was busy being in the military.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
