They aren't omissions based on awesomness of the game. Those are great games yes!

But Phantasy Star, Castle of Illusion, and Sonic The Hedgehog are too scarce (heck very rare on Sonic and almost with Castle of Illusion) to suggest to start putting a collection together to as I said in the article "get your feet wet".

I know any SMS game can be grabbed with a little luck at great prices (I just did with Castle of Illusion) or imported (but not always). But I'm trying to go by the norm here for shooting for a copy with at least the box.

True for the states, but bear in mind that I'm in the UK, where both of those games are amongst the most common games on the system :)

I guess I was thinking of starting the collection as buying 5 awesome games for the system. I know I'd rather have a handful of pricier games if they really show off the system, rather than a more cheaper ones, but I can see where you're coming from with those choices too. It's interesting reading your price estimates too, because they're so radically different to what I'd expect to pay here, it really highlights the disparity of the systems popularity between NA and PAL regions. I bought Wonder Boy for 5p on eBay a few years back, and although I got lucky on it, I'd still think of above £5 as high end for it. Alex Kidd, enchanted castle, sonic and fantasy zone are all easily obtainable for under £5 complete, even with postage.
