Why do people eat out at McDonalds?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Being cheap and easily available are probably the biggest reasons, because most of the stuff I've had there in the past couple of years has tasted like goat ass. I feel the same way about most fast food places, truthfully. I couldn't eat anything without feeling like I had a brick in my stomach, or like I was going to fall asleep standing up.
Seriously. I used to eat fast food quite regularly when I was a cable installer and on the road constantly. I couldn't pack enough food to bring with me, and didn't have enough time to stop for "real" food most days. Looking back, I don't know how it didn't kill me.

Now that I have a desk job, fridges and a kitchen at work, and a better budget, I've all but stopped eating fast food or really any restaurant food for that matter. If I eat a greaseburger and fries at this point, I usually either get a headache, want to take a nap, or literally vomit it back up.

I try to eat only home cooked food or organic snacks, and haven't eaten at a mcdonald's in quite some time. It takes up a lot of my spare time to shop for and prepare the food, but being healthier is totally worth it.

There has got to be something wrong with your digestive track if you're having that extreme of a reaction to fast-food. Exaggerate a little?

I'm serious. I've been checked out by a few too many doctors in my day, and they always say I'm a healthy individual. I do have a ridiculously fast metabolism, and I have to eat a lot more than the average person, however I usually spend my free time skateboarding or hauling around crates of records or P.A. gear.

I'm not saying I'm going to puke any significant percentage of the time that I eat fast food, normally it just makes me feel really tired, but if I'm really hungry and just worked out or something, It can make me sick to my stomach. Once I got used to eating quality food, especially organic and farm fresh stuff, there was no going back. I know an elderly lady who grows virtually all of her own food that swears that even things from the supermarket will make her ill. That could be exaggerated, but to an extent, I can believe it.

One thing I'm slightly laughing at while looking at this thread... "farm fresh".

I've been to tons of farmers markets, I've grown up on a ranch, and I've sold stuff at these. Its just as questionable as going and buying your food at Walmart or Target or wherever. Half of the "organic" food these people sell is totally laced with chemical fertilizer and such. Beef getting horomones and such? Thats only a problem at the HUGE feedlots, like the 100 acre ones....

Meh, I get aggrivated by the ignorance of most people when it comes to food and raising it...

But don't you see? If we use these healthy sounding words it must mean that it's actually healthy! And it's all those evil chemicals that are poisoning us and making us fat. It as absolutely nothing to do with the fact that we don't have to do hard labor anymore to make a living.

That is a good point. When I say farm fresh, I mean my brother and his wife raised/grew it. I'm not super paranoid about what's in my food, but I certainly avoid fast food as much as possible.

Okay, that's good then. I'm also tired of these people who buy "organic" grown food from Target and such... because most of that is fertilized with HUMAN feces. Not animal. Much, much more likely to make you sick.

I have a terrible diet and a sweet tooth, but if I had access to super cheap sticker production I'd be tempted to go sticker bombing in stores. All the silly candy and sweet snacks that proclaim "A Fat Free Food" would now instead have a starburst that said "A Make Your Own Fat Food". It bugs me how that is put on totally unhealthy stuff in order to fool people. :?

Some woman who has the same problem, except it's the other way around (she cant eat healthy food)
I personally have a really bad gag reflex, even fairly normal smells like cat litter, foods I dont like and trash can make me almost puke really easily. I threw up a couple of times back when I was a small kid in school and I was forced to eat foods I didn't like. Hell, I got pretty sick just from watching that video  I'm sure that a week in wilderness or Africa would take care of the problem. Although I guess it's normal for the human body to reject certain highly processed foods and ingredients (especially as there are so many people with food allergies these days)
