Re: Retro Game Store Directory
Updated! Sorry to hear about McVan's shutting down; it's sad to see a good store go.
Re: Retro Game Store Directory
Software Seconds in SC is gone too. Tried to visit some retro stores down there only to find almost every one of them now a Gamestop. Software Seconds wasn't a Gamestop though, just shut down.

Re: Retro Game Store Directory
I am sad to hear that Software Seconds shut down. I stopped in there a few months ago, and it had an amazing selection of retro games. The prices were more than a bit on the high side, however.brunoafh wrote:Software Seconds in SC is gone too. Also, a plus one to:
Video Game Exchange [Augusta]:
180 Water Street
Augusta, ME 04330
(207) 622-8857
I always have a great experience there.
Re: Retro Game Store Directory
I'll probably be going there tomorrow, so I'll be able to give an update on the state of their merchandise. I'm hoping they have more in the way of Sega stuff than the other two locations do. All I've really been told about the Gainesville store is that the N64 games and systems are selling like hot-cakes. Doesn't surprise me, really, since it's a collage town. I'm sure the nostalgia factor is in high-gear over there.lisalover1 wrote:That's cool; the last time I was in Gainesville, I found absolutely nothing in the way of independent game stores, so it's good to see one open up!Michi wrote:Gamers HQ opened a new location in Gainesville in April:

I haven't been in there myself yet, but I've seen their pictures. Looks like they've done up the store quite nice.
Re: Retro Game Store Directory
A couple of Las Vegas shops to put Nevada on the list:
A Gamer's Paradise
1550 E. Tropicana Ave, Suite #4
Las Vegas, Nv 89119
702-432-4700
http://agpvegas.com/
Gameworld
5620 West Charleston Blvd
Las Vegas, NV 89146
(702) 307-1440
http://gameworldvegas.com/
Both are solid enough stores, but A Gamer's Paradise always impresses. Solid selection, helpful staff, and prices that are actually competitive.

They did have a fine selection of games, considering they've only been there a couple of months, but they had squat in the way of anything Sega.
They did, however, have a pretty fantastic selection of GB/GBC/GBA games for me to browse through. Much better than their selections at their other stores.
I think they need a few more months yet though, for that store to get into it's stride.

A new Game Over is finally being built in San Marcos. I'll drop the address and everything when I get the chance to go in... I'm UBER excited.
