When is the price worth selling?
When is the price worth selling?
I have been thinking a lot about selling two of my games: Little Samson cart only and Bubble Bobble Part Two CIB. Now I am really not into selling but I look at the prices of games like these just go up and its tempting. Has anyone else been put in this position and what was the outcome? I mean I could sell these and buy a lot of games. Is it worth it though? I want some stories and experiences! Make me laugh and cry like they do in the movies guys!

I only have a few pricey games, but none of them are going up. I have no plans to sell them in the near future.

Re: When is the price worth selling?
My only real experience with this type of thing is owning a complete US copy of House of the Dead that I bought for $30 and having the opportunity every day to turn around and sell it for more than twice what I paid. However, I am keeping it, because it's fucking amazing and the whole reason why I bought my Sega Saturn in the first place. Not to mention I love rail shooter/light gun games in general so it's kinda part of a sub-collection of mine. haha
Personally I think it would depend on where the enjoyment comes from owning those games. Are they games that you couldn't live without as far as being able/not able to play them? At this point do you only own them because it's neat to own something so rare? I know that if it were me (and especially if I could be making a profit) I'd more than likely definitely want to sell them if they were games that I literally did not play and only owned for the sake of owning them. I would much rather own games that I play and want to play again than just have something that'll sit on a shelf forever. But if they were two of my favorite games (when it comes to actually playing them) it would definitely be harder to part with them.
The choice is yours.

As long as you can get a price you can live with they are only games.
Someones always selling and someones always buying, so dont worry you can always replace them price willing. But if those games you enjoy than just keep them.

Both those games are high right now (as are most NES rares) - if you don't love them, can sell now and prob rebuy lower later on. Little Samson anyways...a CIB is a diff. story on BB2. Can always put it for offer and just put it at a price where you'd say "I can't not sell it for $XXX". If it sells great, if it doesn't, great.
SNES stuff is incredibly high right now - even the moderate rares. Wild Guns has doubled the last 4 months. Pocky and Rocky 2 up 50%...on and on.
Hagane has tripled - which has caused the market to begin to flood (which is good). There are more US copies of Hagane on ebay now than at any point in the last 3 years (that i've seen). In theory this should cool the market...but if you have one, now is the time to move it. Carts are doing nearly $200 and CIB's are $400+.

Re: When is the price worth selling?
I don't have an attatchment game play wise. It would be hard to get rid of BB2 because its CIB. I guess I will end up keeping Little Samson just because I don't want to go through the hassle it takes to sell an expensive game. It is still so damn tempting when I look at sale threads like s1mplehumar. So much I want but no money for it.
Re: When is the price worth selling?
I used to just keep every thing, but then I realized if I have a $100 game I don't play I can sell it for 3 $30 games that I will play. If for some reason I want it back I can sell the 3 games and buy it back. Yes I know it can back fire with really rare and mint stuff that could go up in price. I guess you just have to weigh your options. If I think it is irreplaceable I won't sell it. An example of mine is my Border Down Naomi GD rom. I don't play it often and like a lot of other shmups more, but I know if I sell it I will never get it back. I have been offered 35% more than I paid and still won't sell it.
Edit: I just looked up completed prices for your games and damn that is a lot of money. Your looking at between $700 to $1000 for just 2 games. I don't know man I would trade 2 NES games for a Naomi Universal cab any day(cost about the same if your lucky).

Re: When is the price worth selling?
Only my BB2 is CIB. My Little Samson is cart only. I would love an arcade cab but I live on the 3rd floor lol.
Re: When is the price worth selling?
Yea that would suck to move up three stories. The only way I would probably let those games go is for another rare and expensive item that I really wanted and could not find every day of the week.

So you don't have any money to buy the games you want, but you don't want to go through the effort to sell the games you don't play and could get a good amount of money for?sbk wrote:I don't have an attatchment game play wise.
