New Super Mario Bros. 2 - Club Nintendo Rewards

Post by Giggles »

Hey everyone, first post here on the forums, though I've been lurking around for quite some time. Anyway, with New SMB 2 coming out, I can say I'm really excited. I use Club Nintendo so I have problem with New SMB 2. For those who purchase it on the eShop, they get 100 coins instead of 50. For those like me, who like to have physical copies of games, are stuck with 50 coins. I find this really annoying that they are rewarding people for downloading it off the eShop. I just wanted to know what you guys think of this. Sorry if there is already a thread on this.

I feel the same way. I think I'll leave it to a coin toss, because I want to have the physical game, yet at the same time, having more coins is a really good thing.

I'm going to buy the physical copy. My view is Nintendo isn't obligated to give any sort of 'reward' for buying their product, so it doesn't matter to me if I get 50 coins instead of 100. I'm grateful to get any reward at all in addition to the game I bought. I don't get 'rewards' for buying PS3 or 360 games, but that doesn't stop me from buying them.

They are offering 100 coins as a bonus as it's the first full retail downloadable eshop title. It's a bonus for people willing to go that route, as opposed to just a bonus for buying the usual way.

Well, I just found something that you get with the physical copy that you don't with the digtal. If you pre-order it from GameStop you can get an exculsive gold Mario pin! :sarcasm: Yay... :|

They're just trying to train people to go digital-only.

Screw 'The Man', I'm going to own my physical games for as long as possible.

Exactly.

It's a decent plan, incent some of those on the fence and perhaps the behavior sticks.

The way I see it is that either Nintendo goes completely digital or they don't go digital at all.

I was tempted but I as well don't want to encourage an all digital future so I'll just stick with my physical copy if I ever get the game.

I, for one, welcome our new ant digital overlords.
