Pretty sure mine came with batteries, I can double check later.
There aren't many things I'm not satisfied with here. The Street Fighter X Tekken/SF IV Arcade set doesn't come with a manual. That bummed me out, but I can see most people not really caring. But it bugged me. The OST collection though, is literally packed in taped shut plastic covers and shoved into slots within the box. This is probably the most disappointing aspect for me. I have no doubt the actual content on the disks will be worthy, and I'm particularly looking forward to checking out the fan made stuff, but wow they really skimped out here. It looks really cheap and just unattractive, and when you remove one of the disks the plastic is all bent up and wrinkled.
But yeah, overall I'm very satisfied.
I spent a good part of Tuesday night ripping the soundtrack collection to FLAC. I do wish they used some real cases for the soundtrack (more than enough space in the box), but they could also have put them in paper sleeves and rubber banded them together...so...could be worse.
Between the focus of the art book, dedicating two CDs to fan mixes/songs, and so on, the feel of the set seems a lot more about fans than most.
My main annoyance was the DLC. Not necessarily the inclusion of it (though I really wish it was disc based instead), but installing it. On the PS3 at least, every last piece is a separate item, to include every avatar. So, one for every character in Street Fighter, SSFII HD, Alpha 3, 3rd Strike, SFIV (plus a second set of 8-bit SFIV), and SFXTekken... in addition to the games and add-on DLC, just redeeming the one code dumped ~200 pieces of DLC onto my system...and there's no "download all" option (I think PSN has one if things are in your shopping cart? couldn't find it for this). Now, there's no actual need to download every avatar, but it's the principle of the thing
Then there's yet more free DLC to get in Street Fighter X Tekken (at least)...and other pieces that were not included (gems and the like).
That SFIV AE and SFXT were just in a double disc case with a leaflet explaining there's a downloadable manual was a little off-putting too...but frankly the in-game tutorials, move lists, and so on are a lot more convenient anyway.
Main complaint, again, is that so much of the bundled software is in form of a DLC coupon. Not that I don't have copies of almost all of it anyway...but a nicely presented physical collector's set would have been nice.
