I'm so pissed that it's not Raiden Fighters. If you guys missed it, RF and Strikers 1999 tied with 11 votes, and resulted in a coin-toss with Strikers the winner. Looks like my Raiden Fighter Aces will continue to collect dust while I hope that shmupMAME handles Strikers without a problem for me. Speaking of, can someone remind me which key takes screenshots in shmupMAME again?

I didn't vote becasue I misinterpreted midnight to be tonight @ midnight, not last night - something I see he clarified sometime after I saw the OP.

I'd have voted for RF, though.

I thought toyrobo was the captain? Only team captains voted. (Well, I guess you can vote within your team if your captain wants you to, but only the captain has an official vote within the thread).

EDIT: Oh. You are the captain now. NVM.

ANyway, that sucks worse cuz that means it could have been RF had you voted. :\

Yeah, that's balls. I wanted RF too, 'cause I have no fucking clue how to use shmupmame.

Mike explained it, but I have a shitty laptop, so IDK if I can get it to work.

The STGT completion has started! First week is Strikers 1999: http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=42379

We have two slots left on our team "Attack Ships on Fire" if anyone wants to join in and play with some of your fellow Racketboy members. Shoot me a PM and I'll get you put on the squad.

I love the team name

I'll be the best looking cheerleader you guys have ever had for this.

You guys should give Strikers 1999 a chance. In the little bit of time I spent with it I quite enjoy it, though it makes me wish I was playing Dragon Blaze instead.

Yeah, this game is nice, but Dragon Blaze outperforms.

Dragon Blaze has a great, balanced cast, whereas 1999 has one great character.

Dragon Blaze's coin collecting is much more fun than Strikers' Coin Chaining

Dragons are cool.

I think that us just having a DB month kinda spoils this one. Especially since almsot EVERY other Psikyo game had a great console port.

I got 770,700 on Strikers 1999 with the F18. I'll post it on shmups as soon as photobucket stops acting up. Do I have to put the team name as well? How do they know? Man, I can't hang with those shmups guys. I'll go back to racing games.

My only issue with the game is I REALLY, REALLY wish that there was more than one ship that was any good. Heck, even the first Strikers had a few but everyone knew that the P-51 was the X-36 of that game, with the rotating formation that stops those boss bullets cold 8)

I can see that the Shmups.org folks have nearly all of us outclassed too. People are getting their 1 million and swearing off the game for the rest of the week, whereas I'm struggling to get through 1-3 (shades of Dragon Blaze anyone?)

I would have much rather seen RF personally, because I have a lot more experience there, but I am happy to see there's even a 3rd game in the series. I played Strikers I a lot at a movie theater and Strikers II at an arcade back in the day but this is one I'll have to learn right quick.

You'll just have to pull me off Cyberball from MAT 2 on the Cube first  I know it's not a shmup but damn what a fine arcade game that is!

Damn, not only did I only play this game twice this month, I didn't update the OP once. I'm a shitty thread updater, sorry guys. I'll have everything good to go on the 1st though.

I guess this will be STGT'12 Chat for August.

As for Strikers 1999, my goal is to break 1 million by the end of the week. I am in the 700's. I gotta work on my medal timing. Half the time I get 2K, the other half 1K. But when all the bullets are coming at me 200 will do.
