Notes Section

Post by Ack »

Hey guys, I recently ordered a copy of Martian Gothic: Unification to be sent to me. I figured, as a fan of survival horror, I might as well check it out. I know, I know, it's supposed to be a pretty bad game, but...well, we'll see.

Anyway, I get the game used, but it comes with everything and is in great condition. When I get to the notes section of the instruction manual, I find a sentence scratched in pencil about some item in the game. I want to know, have any of you guys actually used the notes section of an instruction manual before? Only once have I written in an instruction manual, and it wasn't in that section... Heck, what do you guys think of that relatively blank page? Ever used it? Hate it when others do? What?

When I was younger I used to jot down a note when I reached a tough spot in game, i.e. Mega Man 64 many times had parts that took forever to figure out what you were supposed to do and once I finally figured out I would note it for future use. I don't bother to do that anymore partly because my own OCDness started bothering me and also some parts of games I will never forget. Use Mega Man 64 again, there's one level where you go down an elevator and once you exit the elevator 2 mechanical dogs attack you. Freaked me out like crazy.

I've only really seen it a couple times and it was passwords to jump to different levels before there were memory cards...

I used to write down passwords and cheats in the notes section. After I grew up a bit and realized that games are worth something :? I starting using a little note book. My brother sold all our old stuff when I moved out (i almost killed him) so unfortuanely I don't have anything to look back on. I did however pick up a copy of Fireshark for genesis with some cheats written on the manual. Now I kinda cringe at how it degrades the value, but also it gives me a bit of nostagia...and thats a good thing.
