Exactly right, and understandably so! I do think Jamestown handled it fairly well, though.

That's an entirely valid point.

To me, the original DoA2 was clean and curated, and it felt at home on the system. (This curation is especially important if you're specifically looking to eschew more recent installments for a "classic" experience.) The Gauntlet series was always a bit ill-at-ease on whatever console it was being ported to at the time, so since you can't go for a natural experience, go for the most full-featured one.

It was never officially released even though it was finished, but Propeller Arena is a whole lot of death-match style fun.
