Jakks Pacific Ms. Pacman Plug and Play - Game key version

Post by Onyxthecat »

So I picked this up since I thought it would look cool on my game shelf. I didn't know anything about it but I had seen similar mini arcade games before. The device itself has 5 games on it: Ms. Pac-man, Xevious, Mappy, Galaga, and pole-position Today I was doing some research on it and found I may have a rare variant. This one has the Game key slot and when I bought it a game key was still inside(I thought it was part of the device until I pulled it out lol).

Apparently they only made 2 game keys for this model. One had Dig Dug, New Rally-X and the second had Pac-man, Rally-X and Bosconian. This model also allowed you to save hi-scores. I was lucky with mine since it seems it was barely used and it works flawlessly but the question I have is my game key only has Pac-man and Bosconian, no Rally-X. Is this a different cart or some extremely rare one?! lol. I know someone on Atariage is looking for one of these and maybe someone here knows who it is (StephenJ).

Also, still reading that it was possible to make a ROM dumper out of this?

Very nice! The Gamekey itself is usually hard to come by. Give Pole Position a go, the unknown to many twist the stick to steer actually works well. Noteworthy is that Bosconion got the eight direction fix thru the Gamekey. In the first Namco PlugnPlay, Bosconion is locked to four directions due to the detents of the Joystick.
