What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Going on about how proud you are of that makes it seem like you're just trying to rub it in people's faces. I don't think you can do a "white pride" type thing without looking like you're just trying to undermine similar movements from minority groups.
It aggrivates me that people have worked for decades to create equality, so that groups can have minority rights, scholarships just for their race, opportunities because of their sexual orientation, and other things.

I'm also tired of America trying so hard to be "politically correct". We're pretty much the only country in the world that worries about it. I've had multiple German exchange students, Aussie friends, and some English friends tell me how racist they were, and all the things that they hate about the race and why. Yet, the stereotype is that I'M racist...

Here's the thing, before those minority rights, race scholarship, sexual orientation opportunities (is this actually a thing?), etc, these groups were severely disadvantaged. Eventually a point will be reached when these things are no longer necessary and they'll fade away.

As for Politcal Correctness... I don't know, it rubs me the wrong way to see people complaining about the fact that people don't like it when they use racial slurs and whatnot. I thought basic politeness and decency, especially in public, was something we were supposed to strive for?

I'm not saying that people should, but they shouldn't have the wrath of the general public come down on them for it. I see it as a problem with free speech. Its like a friend of mine who is black. He only dates black women, because it is his preferance. Does that make him racist? I don't see why it does, but many believe it does...

Also, I don't think giving someone special treatment for problems THEY never had to deal with is fair. I'm sorry, special treatment to you because your great-great grandfather was treated badly isn't right. If that's the case, I want special rights and such for the way my Irish ancestors were treated.

Another note, why is there the double standard that America needs to have open immigration, while places like Luxembourg are practically impossible to move to?

*We should probably move to the Random thoughts thread.

That's somewhat valid. Truth is, I don't think most white people really give a shit about being white unless they think it makes them superior. So. Yeah.

Lolno. Political correctness is going just as strong in most developed European countries and assumably in Australia&New Zealand too. UK is becoming like an Orwellian state because of political correctness (not to mentiong things like gun control and surveilance)

Islam is growing rapidly in many European countries http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... e-2010.svg while the US is still mostly christian, so there's a lot more political correctness related to the issue in Europe (people getting thrown to jail for criticizing islam in their blogs and so on)
2%-4% (Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain)
4%-5% (Denmark, Greece, Liechtenstein, United Kingdom)
5%-10% (Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland)
10%-20% (Bulgaria, Georgia, Montenegro, Russia)

As of 2000, there were 162,000 immigrants in Luxembourg, accounting for 37% of the total population. There were an estimated 5,000 illegal immigrants, including asylum seekers, in Luxembourg as of 1999.[83]

Again, the "open immigration" thing applies to pretty much of all of Western countries. Europe, Canada, Australia and America need to be more diverse but no one cares about South Korea and Japan[*] because they are Asian countries. You don't really see people demanding that African and Asian countries should be more diverse and have more white people living there. I think that most leftists dont have a problem if an African person says "Africa for Africans" because he/she wants to protect African culture, natural resources and economy. Nor do most people have a problem if a Japanese person says that he/she wants that Japan remains homogenous because he/she wants to preserve Japanese culture. It's usually a different story when a person from a rich white country says the same thing

*
South Korea is one of the most ethnically homogeneous societies in the world, with more than 99% of inhabitants having Korean ethnicity.[129] Koreans call their society 단일민족국가, Dan-il minjok guk ga, "the single race society".

Japanese society is linguistically and culturally homogeneous,[147] composed of 98.5% ethnic Japanese,[148] with small populations of foreign workers.[147] Zainichi Koreans,[149] Zainichi Chinese, Filipinos, Brazilians mostly of Japanese descent,[150] and Peruvians mostly of Japanese descent are among the small minority groups in Japan.[151]

Blah, blah blah. Movies!

Watched HALF BAKED with some friends last night as I needed to lighten the mood. Well to be honest, I half watched HALF BAKED as I've seen it more than a dozen times and was involved in a viciously competitive game of Rummy 500.

Not much to say about HALF BAKED other than it is very effective at what it sets out to do, make you laugh. It's not knee slapping hilarious, but it is very funny. Silly, but it deliberately tries to be.

It hasn't aged a bit either. Much like OFFICE SPACE, HALF BAKED could take place in an era spanning decades.

I've heard people argue which is the better stoner film, DAZED AND CONFUSED or HALF BAKED, but they are two totally different vehicles. For nothing other than silly fun that never takes itself seriously, HALF BAKED might not be the better movie, but it is funnier.

"Abba-Zabba, you're my best friend."

Yeah, that's a nostalgic one for me. Came out when I was in high school, and me and my friends probably watched it 20 times over.

Terrible. Just awful. Who greenlit this piece of crap and did that person even see the masterpieces that were the first 3 Alien movies? And you know what's funny? Guess who wrote it? Joss Whedon. He obviously had some growing (so to speak) to do, still.

And the creature that's suppose to wow us all, just looks laughable, not terrifying:
