Outputting a PSP to TV

I'd like to know the best way to do this. I've seen some different cables out there, utilizing both composite and RGB. Is there any specific type and brand I should be looking into?

Also, is there a way to have gameplay display on both the PSP screen and the TV at the same time?

I wouldnt worry about brand, just find the cheapest ones, but i recommend the Component PSP to TV cable for the best picture, i have the Composite one and i cant even play the games in full screen, its like a little widescreen box with black borders all around.

There is plugins for CFW to expand the picture on the TV for Emulators and PSP games, but they can be buggy.

What model of PSP? I dont think the PSP 1000s can component hook up to tv. My 2000 has component cables that connect to tv. Problem is, they arent that long, so I have to practically sit in front of the tv. If only I could a PS3 controller to hook up to the PSP... lol

Interestingly enough, the Playstation 3D display offers a PSP Zoom mode that allows you to play PSP games in fullscreen at the correct aspect ratio when connected via component cables.

You'll need some RCA extension cords! They're pretty short. I actually wouldn't recommend a TV connection. These games are design for a specific screen size and resolution. Both 2D and 3D games look pretty odd on a TV, especially if you stretch out/zoom in on the picture.

Get the component one if your TV supports it. I didn't like what came out of the composite cables.
I forgot my component hookup one time while out-of-town and had to buy a non-Sony brand one since that was all that was available where I was. I didn't notice any difference in picture quality. The cable was longer and more flimsy-feeling, but the picture was still the same.
Still like Valkyrie-Favor mentioned, the picture is not 1:1 pixel mapping on the screen no matter what you do. It's grainy and scaled so making it full-screen using the scaling combinations on the PSP and flat-screen necessary to do so just compounds the problem.

Minor complaints really - I still love playing Patapon on my biggest screen with the sound cranked through my surround system.

I play my PSP with a giant stereo system, but no TV. My family got super irritated while I was playing Yggdra Union.

its my understanding the 2000 series can hook up via component but normal PSP games won't work. I was able to play the converted PS1 games on a TV when I had one.

I -think- the 3000 series can output normal psp games to a TV, but I could be wrong on that one. I remember it being pretty pointless to have the component cords for my 2000 series slim.

I have played PSP games on my TV before with a 2000 using components... Not sure what issues you were having though.
