Re: What's the rarest game you own?
Exactly, the same stupidity that causes people to label any cart games as "OMG RAREZORZ!" just because they are old Is the same that causes them to think any black label game is rare too. It is just a term that people with older games pick up on with out knowing what it means. Usually this is in relation to PS1 greatest hits re-releases. Of course if a game made it to even have a green release, there are tons of copies floating around.

Final Fantasy VII always cracks me up. Not only do people give it the "OMG rare", and "L@@K, Black Label", but it even gets the, "Super rare misprint!" slabbed onto it.

Recently bought all 6 Grauen no Torikago games for Dreamcast. Probably the rarest series on Dreamcast, with Grauen no Torikago Kapitel 6 the rarest game on the system together with The Flintstones PAL White Label and Bakuretumuteki Bangaioh Prize Edition, which is limited to only 5 copies...

Very, very nice. I am trying to acquire a complete set of NES games, and I am very envious of your collection. I currently have about a third of those titles...and I am working on acquiring the rest of them. It is very hard hunting those titles in the wild, however. I will likely have to start ordering them online at some point. (Fortunately, I collect for a lot of systems; so, there is still plenty for me to pick up in the wild before I start really hitting eBay and the nintendoage forums.)

Hmm, the local game store here has a case full of some of the more "rare" Nintendo and Super Nintendo games. I'm guessing they haven't checked prices on those in a while because they have a (cart only) copy of Fire N Ice for $40, which looks like a pretty good price compared to what's on ebay right now.

That is a good price. I got mine for $50 and that was a pretty good deal.harper wrote:Hmm, the local game store here has a case full of some of the more "rare" Nintendo and Super Nintendo games. The game is amazing by the way. If you like puzzles anyhow.
EDIT:That collection is quite impressive Crabmaster2000. I bow before your NES collecting superiority.

Yeah they list stuff according to the lowest listed prices on ebay, so those games have definitely been sitting there for a while. Don't tell anyone but I actually bought a game for my SS that was in that case for $16, them came home and realized it's like $60 on ebay. haha
I'll definitely take a better look at what they have next time. Maybe I can score a good deal for myself.

I picked up my copy a few years ago from a young man selling a lot of NES games on Craigslist for $35. His advertisement stated that he was in Charlotte, but when I called him, I discovered that he was about two hours north of the city. Apparently, he had several offers on the lot, but all of the other potential buyers backed out when they discovered how far out in the country he was located. My wife wanted to stop at antique store in that direction; so, we packed the car and headed out to get the lot. The lot had one or two other games I needed to add to my collection, and I traded the rest of it; so, it the whole transaction worked out sell for me. (My wife an I also got to go on a long, lazy Sunday ride through the country.)
