What do you want out of the next Batman series?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

My bad on the misquote. Obviously I don't back read often.

So many villains to choose from that all I really care about is that they get Batman right. Not that Nolan's wasn't awesome, but if you're doing a reboot, REBOOT the fuck out of it.

The Munsters are now beautiful people. Will it work? Dunno. Will I watch it? Yerp. The TOTAL RECALL reboot was beautiful before the final cut, but it's not as fun as the original and lacks something I can't put in words (oh, and Mars is missing).

Really hoping the ROBOCOP reboot kicks mad ass.

^ to quote my friend, the new line reads: "Get your ass to Jersey" -Arnie voice.

EDIT: TDKR Spoiler @Luke:
I still say you're flippin' insane with the Alfred-is-dreaming nonsense.

If they reboot the series and touch on the origins again I'd like them go use Hush as the villain. Thats a way to make the origin a little more interesting I think (movie goers are going to be very familiar with the story by now). They could spice it up the well known origin by showing Bruce growing up with Thomas in addition to the usual parents murdered to keep it fresh.

I'd also be up for another "Dark" take on the series, but with the more fantastical characters like Poison Ivy, Killer Croc, Mr.Freeze, Solomon Grundy etc. I'd have no problem suspending my disbelief with those kinds of characters as long as the plot was mature and interesting.

I could be wrong, but I think he went very David Chase with it, as it's all there. That and you can't trust Nolan after his "Never. No Robin, ever" diatribe. He likes to play the audience like a piano.

Like The Sopranos ending, I can see either opinion work, but see signs that point to one.

The fantasy thing was "and we saw each other and we both knew" (or something close to that). In the end it's Bruce giving the cheese and giving an extended cheers while living with a sugar Mama who makes her living by being a thief.

Yeah, but you also have the entire autopilot subplot. If Nolan wanted us to think at all that Bruce really wasn't alive, he wouldn't have stuck a whole brief scene where it's explained that the autopilot was fixed months before the finale.

Plus the repaired Bat-signal.

Lastly, Bruce being alive, having an actual life beyond Batman resolves his arc. It's pretty much the whole point of the movie.

^I think it is up for debate. But as I said, either ending is fine with me.

I would be fine with the ending you chose, I just don't see how that ending is possible based on AQ's points.

Now he is delusional, murdered his mother and loved a frozen Nora who he claimed was his wife... But she was a dead movie star from the 50's who was put on ice before he was even born.
This version would work great in Nolan's movies.
Hmm. I like that direction with it, but it just makes him another looney in the gallery then. I still think him trying to save Nora is a better option. The reboot caused just as many problems as it solved...

Aside from my Depression-era Batman, which combined the realistic science of the Nolan films with a Depression-era Dieselpunk style, there are a few things:

* Harley Quinn, since even though she's a fan fave, no movie since her debut in Batman TAS has featured her. Her closest live-action appearance was in Birds of Prey, but she wasn't quite the Harley we all know and love
* Riddler, but not like the previous depictions. I'm thinking more of a Jigsaw-esque hacker who we only see in the form of video feeds and at the end we find out that
he's been dead before the movie started and his goal was to cause mass panic from beyond the grave, thus making him the greatest criminal mastermind in the annals of crime
* Mr Freeze, but not the tacky one that kept Schwartenegger(sic?) from getting regular work (seriously, he used to crank out a new movie every 2-3 years, and now he's only done less than several since 1997). I'm thinking someone very somber yet psychotic, almost like Dr. Frankenstein, too tragic to be a monster and too much of a monster to be tragic

That may have more to do with being Governor of California.
