^That makes sense.
Thought I may have missed something obvious (I guess in a way I did).
What do you want out of the next Batman series?

Killer Croc needs to get a bit more light. A lot of people don't even know he's a Batman villian.AppleQueso wrote:Luke wrote: Killer Croc could work considering it'll be at least another 3-5 years before another Batman movie showed up.
And yeah a properly done Riddler would be nice. Carrey's Riddler was... weird.
A properly done Mr. Freeze could be fantastic too.
You know what, screw it. Throw a dart at a list of names of Batman villians. Pretty much ANY of them could make for a fantastic movie if handled right.
Carrey's riddler was more annoying than anything. I'm personally hoping to see the characters get adapted some to be slightly more time oriented. I'd like to see the Riddler doen up as a roofrunning tagger, with a bit more of a idealist personality, leaning towards a total disdain for the less intelligent.
Mr. Freeze has gotten the bad end of the stick in everything but the comics and Arkham City. In my opinion, he has one of the best reasons to do what he does. Too often he is portrayed as power hungry, when he is a character that wants only to save his wife... So much wasted potential right there.
Bane needs a better realization of his story and condition. The new movie was good, but everything was adapted to fit the Nolanverse. One needs to consider those seperate from the comic world completely...

No mention of TAS's portrayal of Freeze? IIRC, it's where his frozen current backstory about trying to save his wife originated.Forlorn Drifter wrote:Mr. Freeze has gotten the bad end of the stick in everything but the comics and Arkham City. I kinda see the Nolan films as like... an elseworlds type thing or something.Forlorn Drifter wrote: Bane needs a better realization of his story and condition. That said, Nolan's Bane is portrayed much like he portrays all of the villians. His demeanor and presence is pretty much dead on, even if the details of his background and such have been changed. It's a very respectful portrayal I think.

D'oh. I don't know why I didn't think about TAS. Honestly, thats how I got into Batman... I pretty much knew that about Freeze too.... my nerd is slipping...AppleQueso wrote: No mention of TAS's portrayal of Freeze? I'm happy with the Nolan portrayal of Bane, and little moments hinted at his super human abilities, (he knocked out some concrete in mutliple moments in one fight against Bats) but some of the details kinda irked me. His voice... ehh, it grew on me, but it seemed out of place. I dunno, its good but the comic reader in me is sitting their yelling, "BUT IN THE COMICS..."

Nolan is done. At best he may executive produce the reboot.SpaceBooger wrote:I just read a couple articles that said that Nolan is done with Batman movies, but knowing his cunning and planning he may be sticking around in Gotham for a while.
I have not seen the movie yet, but articles have stated that JGL's John Blake states that that is not his "legal name" and is set up to take over protecting Gotham. Many have speculated that JGL could legally named be Dick Grayson and Nolan will do a couple Nightwing movies, but someone stated the the heroclick (a game) states that "John Blake's alias is Azrael".
So maybe Nolan will be returning to Gotham and the next "Batman series" won't feature Batman.

Killer Croc would be great, but kind of hard to see that as Amazing had The Lizard (but he did look goofy so that could be improved on).
Still have no clue what Stark meant by there was another Riddler cameo in TDKR, but seeing as I want to see the detective side of Batman (suit on, cowl off, studying blueprints and whatnot in the batcave) I'd like the Riddler in the new Batman.
20 years ago, the KGBeast would have been awesome.
Agree with Killer Croc, he would be a great villian for a more comicky movie. Loved him in Arkham Asylum.

I think you may be correct, but Nolan lies to the press. About A LOT. Wouldn't trust him if his tongue came notarized.Jrecee wrote:

Is the Killer Croc really less known than Bane (before TDKR of course)? He's in the Arkham series which would lead me to believe kids probably love the guy (but hate jumping thru sewers).
Don't you hate it when you can't remember a character(s) name?
Who were the pair (from London I think) of derelicts in the comics where one turned into fog (named Fogg I think) and a big brute who would armor up and had forearm pop out shanks?
Re: What do you want out of the next Batman series?
Well Bane was in Batman & Robin as well, whereas Killer Croc hasn't been in any major Batman film.Luke wrote:Is the Killer Croc really less known than Bane (before TDKR of course)? He's in the Arkham series which would lead me to believe kids probably love the guy (but hate jumping thru sewers).

The origin of freeze has changed in the DC reboot.
This version would work great in Nolan's movies.

Is the DC Reboot the reason that the splash screen at the beginning of TDKR movie changed?
