Genesis connection issues
My genesis (model 2) has two connection issues. First is the power supply. If up even silty bump it, the system turns off. The second is with the controller. The A and B buttons do not usually work. If I giggle the connection alot, I may get it to start working for awhile. While I realize it may be easier to just buy a new one, I'd rather see of I can fix it so I better know what Im doing in case something like my Neo Geo starts acting up. Any advice?

Re: Genesis connection issues
looks like your genesis is either really old and beat up, or it got dropped and its damaged.
Maybe this genesis was on top of a tv? A cord got pulled and it fell off of the top.
Is this your original genesis or did you buy it at the fleamarket? If this is your first genny, I guess there's sentimental value to it. But I would just buy another one.
do you have any extra plugs or controlers?
If you have an extra power brick, put it on the genesis and see if it has the same problem. If it does, then the motherboards socket for the plug is damaged. Theres a crack on the metal part or the hardware is messed up near it.
As for the controler, get another one and plug it in to the genesis. If it does the same thing, then the input pins on the genesis is bent or broken. Check inside your controler end too and see if there isnt any foregin particles inside.
Sometimes controlers need a good cleaning. If the A and B buttons get stuck, maybe take the controler apart and clean with some q-tips and maybe a ligtly dampened paper towel. Wring it out a little, you dont want it super wet.
You can get the rubber pads wet, there are no electrical components there.
It's not exactly hard work, but I do recommend another genesis. There are lots out there still.
