What do you want out of the next Batman series?
What do you want out of the next Batman series?
Obviously this trilogy is done. Where do you want to see Batman go? Warner Brothers will surely be trying to get a new batman movie out in the next 4 years. What sort of tone should it take? Etc. . .

If it's not a return to uber-cheesy 60s Batman then I will be seriously disappointed.Jrecee wrote:Obviously this trilogy is done. Where do you want to see Batman go? Warner Brothers will surely be trying to get a new batman movie out in the next 4 years. What sort of tone should it take? Etc. . .
Older. Not wiser.

Live action Batman Beyond starring Adam West as old Bruce. It will have the same tone as the 60s show.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:If it's not a return to uber-cheesy 60s Batman then I will be seriously disappointed.Jrecee wrote:Obviously this trilogy is done. Joel Schumacher is the key

I seriously think they should hand him the keys. He could make a great batman film and is due for redemption.OldSchool_Boy wrote:Joel Schumacher is the key

I absolutely disagree. That series gave Batman, and comics in general, a stigma that has only just recently started to go away. I do not want to see a return to it.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:If it's not a return to uber-cheesy 60s Batman then I will be seriously disappointed.Jrecee wrote:Obviously this trilogy is done. I say they go with The Dark Knight Returns. We've seen campy Batman, we've seen trendy Batman, and we've seen serious Batman. What else is left? And the story is a good one. I think Batman is mainstream enough that they could get away with a story this plot-heavy.

A story about an aging Batman coming out of retirement would be kinda redundant following Rises, a story about an aging Batman coming out of retirement.BurningDoom wrote: I say they go with The Dark Knight Returns. Besides, you're getting an animated adaptation anyway.

I think they could do a pretty good story using Clayface's TAS rendition.

Re: What do you want out of the next Batman series?
I have to try not to look at the posts in this thread, since I haven't seen the movie yet.
I'd like to see a Bryan Singer take on Batman
I also would like to see movies based on Batgirl or Nightwing, with Batman making cameo appearances, which would probably get people to go see these movies. You use Batman to get butts in seats for these movies that he's appearing in, but not staring in. Then, once you have made a few Batman related movies (Batgirl, Batwoman, Nightwing, Birds of Prey, a rebooted Catwoman), NOW you can do an Avengers type thing where you bring them all together. Hell, they could do a variation of the court of owls storyline, or have the League of Shadows attack Gotham and bring in the whole Bat family to fight them.
I also think the Red Hood would make an amazing villain for a new Batman movie, even though his story has already been done animated.
