Chronotrigger rom problems?

Post by nickfil »

so I am at the factory, just got the robot. I go up to the door that you need the password for. Zambie or something like that. The password is xaby. I pop it in. The game chimes like I did something good, but nothing happens. Door stays closed. I can even hit a after for another chime. Still no door.

Is this a rom problem? I am running it on my xbox. And yes, I know a and b are swapped on the controller. Anyone else have this problem?

Lots of emus have this issue. You must map those 4 buttons into 1 single button and then press that.

The reason why zsnes does not do this but other emulators do is because zsnes is the only major emulator which, when pressing multiple buttons or keys, will read all of them simultaneously rather than just the one you hit first.

Yeah what he said. I believe they even implemented this functionality because of the severe amount of requests due to Chrono Trigger. I remember back before ZSNES allowed it, actually.

Chrono Trigger is without a doubt the only mainstream game that requires this function.

No, that's not it.

It's XABY, 1 at a time. Wait for the chime before entering the next button.

The other problem is pushing L and R and A together. But that's before the factory.

true- I am beginning to suspect that it is my own fault and not the rom/emulator. I did actually have an old one, and got the most current snes emulator i could find. But shit- i still can not get that fucking door open. Which sucks becuase i know the password.
