Spec Ops The Line

This is your run of the mill TPS cover-based game, but while it doesn't outshine the likes of Gears of War or Max Payne, it handles its subject matter intelligently and has a captivating story to tell. I read in the feeds that it's 50% off, so grab it you won't be disappointed.

There is certainly a surreal element to the story, but it is the closest to depicting war for it is that I've played so far. It's just a shame the gameplay is only functional. If you find it for sale price it'll be a pity if you choose to ignore it.
