My friends and I did help a turtle once. While at school we were driving by the airport which had a bunch of ponds at the far end. There was a big 18 inch diameter or so turtle crossing the road. The bad thing is that the road had 6 inch curbs so the turtle was going to have a slow hard time getting off the road. So we stopped and hoisted it over into the grass where it was headed.
