Just like the huge pinwheels on stage 4 that you have to lazer shot for about 6 seconds before they explode, same idea on stage 3 with the bigger things, usually in the middle of the screen, I try to hold center on all of those, dodge a few times, and as they are all about to close on you, often it will explode (and so will all of it's bullets). If you bail out on the first wave and corner yourself, then you have to use spreadshot to make contact with them, and they take much longer to kill obviously, and I usually end up dying anyways, so I try to maintain lazer in center.

Stage 3 boss is harder than 4, but i'm getting much better.

The other thing, you have those swarms that came at you in waves from one side repeatedly. If they are coming from the left, I stay far left and suck in the first wave, then tap right just a bit, let the next wave come, tap right, ...then you have to start climbing the right side of the screen almost to the top, after the 5th wave (I think?), there is almost always a slight gap where you can cut back across the pattern and recenter yourself.

I don't go for bees on stage 3 and 4 yet - if they are there and accessible great, but I found my self sacrificing to get them too often, especially if you uncover them "late".
I feel like I am already doing all that :?

Its important to remember that, although yo may have 600-700 chain, unless your hyper meter is full, your chain will not be giving you points like a traditional DDP.

So, hypering to build the chain raises potential score, but keeping a hyper in stock is what applies tjat score potential (and makes chaining risky, as it can insta-break when a hyper is in stock)

Thought I had the ALL in the bag, got cocky and had my daughter start recording me :/

EDIT: I hit stage 4 w/5 total lives.

Anyways, a new high at least:

2,184,030,452 - mjmjr25 - Area 5 - B/Strong - 360/Arcade

I'm uploading the video (beginning at stage 4 boss) from my run now, not that you can learn anything from it. Stage 5 is still a complete mess. Navigating those revolving pinwheels - horizontally, w/purple lazers on all sides is brutal.

Awesome!

How do you HIT stage 3 with 5 lives? You start with 3, and earn 1 at 1 billion. Is there another 1UP (other than ON stage 3, obviously)?

The 3 you start with, the 1 up on stage 3 (end of the stage, dead center if you blow that huge wheel up) and then the 1 billion-1up = 5 lives.

There was no extend at 2 bil

EDIT: - mystyped the first post ^^ there. *Stage 4 at 5 lives.

oh, that's the END of the stage. You said you HIT the stage with it, which is why I was confused. I have hit Stage 3 with 4 lives at best, finished it with maybe 3 at best.

my 3 year old son always asks me "what she saying?" I always tell him "she says 'I hate you, Daddy! Die'!"

He also likes that the sound for a hyper being ready is kinda like "your turn yoshi". He always tells me it is "Time for your Yoshi".

Oh, and he's hit 100million on his own in 360 mode with no help from dad
