To quote the Joker:
Joker wrote:Do I really look like a guy with a plan?
But that quote is one of the many things that makes it more confusing. At times he seems to be acting spontaneously, like when he decides the mob is boring and he doesn't want batmans identity revealed. But then gordon says "the joker wanted me to lock him up in the mcu" and the joker had this elaborate plan involving a cellphone bomb inside of a dude that allows him to escape with Lau.

That's how it works. The Joker is completely and totally insane, yet functioning. He has a plan, but he himself does not understand it, although it always works the way he needs it too. It may not seem that way, but that's how it works. He has just enough sanity to pull these things off, and the insane initiative, crazy courage, and outrageous pride to actually do it.

That's more or less how I read into it. I just thought it felt kind of clunky how they handled it. Heath nailed the acting side of that idea though.

TDK Joker just kinda says/does/plans shit to keep you on your toes. He also doesn't really care if he gets killed while trying.

The good news for folks like Jrecee is that from what I can tell (and from the first batch of reviews that hit today. Lots of them are spoilery so be warned!) is that TDKR seems to be made for those who prefer Begins to TDK. LOTS of focus on Bruce.

Thats what I've been expecting and hoping for and the review I saw on ign said the same thing. Not that my expectations were low or anything, even if it's as good as the dark knight I'll be happy.

Spoiler:
Why would magazines now label JGL as "Boy Wonder" besides just to fuck with us?
KILLER OF SHEEP.

Please put it on your queue, you'll thank me. Original, real, brilliant, and most of all memorable.

From what I've read the movie wasn't released because of budget issues (the movie cost less than 20K to film, but music rights would cost 150K, but the director wouldn't budge until the music he wanted was in the film, which took 30 years to finance).

Much like MAN PUSH CART, this movie portrays and captures real life whether it involves laughter & romance or pain & depression. Like other movies of its ilk, I wonder if the "struggle" is the director depicting the struggles of real life, or the struggles of making a movie. Either way, KILLER OF SHEEP is a movie is a movie anyone can relate to if you've had to struggle through life.

I usually don't rate movies by numbers, but this is a 5 out of 5.

Another Earth

This is a beautiful film despite the initial tragedy it revolves about. Brit Marling is a good actress and her involvement in making the film made it a tad more personal and, dare I say, special.

How ever did I miss that Brodie and TS Quint in Mallrats was an homage to JAWS? They even reference Jaws, and a schooner. So flipping obvious.

I feel shame.

I couldn't put my finger on why, but this is one of my least favorite Coen movies. I think they're just better at writing "idiot blunders way towards resolution" than... Whatever they did here.

Dear God they even have full scenes just based off of JAWS in MALLRATS.

It was 1995, and I was an idiot. My story, and I'm sticking to it.
