Nice vid.
I also remember playing this game with my brother and some friends.
It was a competent game.
This game was promoted heavily, I do remember the gaming magzine ads and I think in comics too.
Small demos of this game were also included in various playstation discs. Some by sony and Specifically in Eidos games. In one way or another people got exposure to it. So yeah it may have been criticized, but people got to play the demos and that helped with sales.
I have played the n64 game back then too, but since I was more of a sony fan I liked the PS version more.
